Indeed, I hope I am wrong but I doubt that I am. At this point, however, I am quite sure that UKIP is no longer a party I can support.

I am sorry you shall not be renewing membership. Any loss of membership is to be regretted.

I wonder at what you must be thinking though if as you say: "The Liberal Party is most definitely in my thoughts".
This implies a transition from the most anti-EU party in British politics to the most pro-EU party in British politics. Some change. Some thoughts. Some confusion?

For my part I never decry anyone who wishes to change their mind in politics, for changing opinions is what it is all about. If only the vast majority of the people in the country would look at the options in policies available with the different parties and make reasoned choices and then change their minds accordingly - we wouldn't be in this mess. The most depressing thing for me of all, is the unthinking, moronic, tribal voting that most in the country engage.

I am heartened by your saying: " I do intend to remain somewhat active in politics". I always admire anyone who is interested enough in politics (and therefore their, and their children's futures) to actually do something by being active politically. Those who do (we) appear to be a dying breed.

And there was me thinking you would be replacing me as chair of the Branch Website Coordination Committee... It'll go to Sean Gabb, now...

Best wishes with your future plans; have you let David Sinclair know?

Yes! And they actually care about getting councillors elected!

How very predictable.
Yet again, with sadness, a hardworking, enthusiastic, talented party member sets our reasons for resignation or non-renewal. And gets an insult for his pains, rather than attempts to understand why he's going, and address the core problems raised.

How very predictable: Until that attitude changes, UKIP are going nowhere...

You will be able to remain active in politics when you resign and join the list DD - you know it makes sense.

Resign? you wish! No. I shall never change my opinion that Britain must get out of the EU. (Unless it became truly democratic - but that is impossible with its infrastucture).
Whilst UKIP is the ONLY party with that policy I shall stick with it through thick and thin. If there was one of the other main parties with the same policy ... then I would have a choice. There is no choice though is there? Quite logical Mr. Spock!

I have been active in politics for Hmm must be getting on for 40 years. Probably always shall be but now trying to reduce the commitment and just go mow the lawn.... except its too wet ... so clacking away here at the keyboard for amusement.

The Liberal party are anti EU because that's small potatoes compared to their ideas of World Government!

Niall Warry is an unknown quantity at this point

I too knew Alex when I was Chairman of Cheltenham and actually work with him to try and produce a Cheltenham Newsletter. His technical IT skills are excellent and very helpful and clearly a keen UKIP member.

Yes I've had the odd disagreement with him on this forum but that's debate.

For him to resign from UKIP really brings home just how much of a mess UKIP is in.

I wish him well for the future, he desires to be successful.
