Including Andy Edward's quotes?

Including the details of "the plotters' meeting"?

Including the "heated question and answer session" at the conference?

I would point out that the only flaw in this argument is that it is unlikely that very many of UKIPs old non-active members read the Indy.

Possibly, but a lot of the less active members either belong to one of the UKIP-sanctioned discussion lists, one of the eurosceptic discussion lists or know somebody who does. Those lists all get kept up-to-date with the news references to UKIP. That news article is circulating.

If this was a real attack, surely the Times or the Torygraph would have been chosen? After all, those are the (ex-)broadsheets read by the majority of UKIP's members. Those are the papers that have splashed UKIP's shenanigans all over page 11 before now. Why wasn't this fed to Foggo, or Private Eye, instead of an unknown?

Probably because the editors won't let it past 'em?

Well I was told a few days ago that some of Farage`s mates had fed a story to the Independent saying that Roger and co were planning a coup .No one thought that they would fall for it .
Roger just wants to serve his time and go by the looks of it .

In fact NF probably talks to far more Tory MEPs than Roger does .

Alas, I heard the same story, but despite being an Eye reader, didn't think Indy journos would fall for the attempt to shaft Roger..

So Andy Edwards A.K.A. 'Iris Francis' has suddenly become very famous.

If the 'Independent' is right, he may be about to play a pivotal role in the re-alignment of British politics...as the movement of the tectonic plates, first observed by John Prescott, gathers pace.

Half the article on dear old Andy, and nothing about:

* The slump in party membership

* The actions of Ashley Mote, Robert KIlroy-Silk and Tom Wise

* The dismal performance in the London Mayoral elections

* The low average vote in Council elections and the net loss of District Councillors over the past four years.

Nor any mention, on the plus side, of Bob Spink MP and two Lords joining UKIP.

An article based largely on Andy Edwards, who is a member neither of UKIP nor the BNP, a couple of e-mails, and a 'secret' meeting of plotters probably of two men and a dog round a table in the bar.

Very strange. And this is a 'quality' newspaper?

But no doubt a successful article. Because people who scan it and move on to the next article will simply leave with the thought: 'UKIP is linked to the BNP'

And, of course, no suggestion that that video might have played a part in Annabelle's departure?

I listened into part of the "heated question and answer session" and the first words to spring to mind were "savaged" and "dead sheep".
