I think what needs to be said is this: it looks like something out of the BNP manifesto.

We find it reprehensible that the British National Party (BNP) is attempting to cast all Muslims in Britain as terrorists, but feel that
much of its recent electoral success has been due to the public’s well-founded fears of the extremist minority being preyed upon
So, in the following paragraphs, we shall proceed to do exactly the same thing.

But, hey, we're only going to extrapolate the figures to cast hundreds of thousands of Muslims as terrorist sympathisers, not all of them, so that's not preying on fears at all like the BNP, really. And we're putting the "non-racist, non-sectarian" mantra no less than twice into this section of the paper. Not three times, though - that would be a case of protesting too much, wethinks.

I don't think so, but I take your point. The BNP are more working class than this and wouldn't put out anything so blatant. I think that its more like something that Harry Enfield's Tory Boy character would have come up with.

There is some decent work in there, but it is overwhelmed by the authoritarian pro-British fanaticism. It's like UKIP is trying to associate itself with every English cliche.

Another gem.

The prospect of say Centrica, owners of British Gas, being taken over by Russia’s Gazprom or Russian Sovereign Wealth Funds that would promote their national interest whilst undermining our own national interest is alarming. But the investment in Chelsea football club has been very positive for Britain.
Why weren't all those lofty geopolitical commentators consoling us upon that brighter note, in recent weeks?

But, wait a minute - what's that on page 29? Oh no, another self-contradiction!

Quote:
Having said this, UKIP notes that in the 2007/8 football season, two British teams* reached the European Champions League final, yet not a single British Home Nation qualified for the European Championships that summer. UKIP feels that this is largely a legacy of many British teams having too few British players in the team.
*Manchester United and, er, Chelsea

Still, on a positive note, this makes UKIP's other policy statements look professional by comparison!

I am not saying the paper is perfect, and by un-neccesary I am saying some of it seems a little authoritarian or un-neccesarily target-driven e.g. the "8 British Movies a year" but I feel the overall context is pretty good and let's face it - no other party comes close to this level of common sense which doesn't also have policy on making Britain white.
Earthling, you echo my thoughts here! Unfortunately, to implement UKIP would need to be in power with a healthy majority!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

You need to be aware that the Britishness paper that was on the UKIP main website has een removed. The reason for this is simple. The paper that was put up on the website was not the definitive version but an early discussion document. It was put up in error.

I apologise for the confusion caused to you by this error. It is apparent, not least from the discussion here that further debates about the Britishness paper need to be held before such a policy can be formerly launched.

Yours

well, it wasn't, but after the furore, it became such.....................

I mean, do you really think a professional party like UKIP would put up a rough draft document on their website? I think not!

I have never dissembled on this forum. Sometimes I am not fully aware of the all facts, but I make it clear in my postings if that is the case. Please do me the courtesy of believing me.
That being said maybe I note hint of irony in your second paragraph?
