Jeff; The Q and A session far from being heated was,if anything calm and bland. The usual posse of dissenters were either absent or silent and I wasn't aware of any heckling. As to changing our position re the EU ,that is not my recollection.

Aardvark: I don't think that you would be expelled. Should you renew your membership,
you could be exhumed, as was Cromwell; now, that would really ensure your immortality.
Forget about necessity, 'Necrolatry knows no law'.

Jeff;I should add that my understanding is that Nigel was extolling us to sell the positives benefits of leaving the EU rather than 'banging on 'about the negatives of being members-----just as 'Better Off Out' does.

Thanks Michael. Agree 100%

The fact that I am now a Tory again does not mean that I intend to trash UKIP. Quite the contrary in fact. I came in as a Hard-right Tory type and found that most of the really intelligent and sensible UKIP people were moderates. Now I have moved to the centre, however, I'm sad to find that much of this talent has simply left politics altogether or joined other minnow parties such as the Liberals.

I think David Cameron - Britain's next PM - can be persuaded to change his mind about UKIP. We can but try.

Mikeuk: If the Tories are to change their position 'on Europe' there has to be an incentive for them to do so. That is best provided by a Party than can say clearly that they support the independent nation state, in spirit and in truth, and can demonstrate
that that can wiln votes. Without that evidence there will be no change in the Tories position.

If Farage changes UKIP to a Pan European Party, the Tories will drift further into Europe.
I predict that should the Tories support the admission of Turkey, at the behest of America, we will be locked into the EU to serve America's interests and not our own.

I am not against the EU, but I am against Britain's membership of it. In 1815, Castlereagh
was not against the Holy Alliance, but he successfully opposed Britain's membership of it, and that served us well. We should adopt the same position to-day in respect of the EU.

Paul Nuttal is a teriffic chap, who has a real and unbiased grasp of all shades of the political spectrum. He is exactly what UKIP has needed for a long time; a political professional with an unimpeachable academic background.

I have talked with Paul about many different aspects of politics, and about UKIP's position in the grand order of things, and I have been very impressed with him at every level.

Sadly, I think it may be too late, and he may have inherited a poison chalice. But I wish him well in this new office.

If it all goes t#ts up, it won't be Paul's fault, I am sure!

It's a bad start, but perfectly rescuable. In fact, it can be his first challenge - to smooth the ruffled feathers.

AB are you really seriously suggesting that PN(who is surely a NF placement) will do anything to save UKIP
