Opposed.

The party should place all funding into grassroots campaigning and gaining as many local councillors as possible as a stepping stone to the General Election. Sloganising is pointless. The party can only advance by tackling local issues on an individual basis and all branches should be encouraged and supported in intensive local election campaigning in order to widen the membership base, enable the electorate to gain a fuller sense of what the party stands for and to give our GE candidates enhanced electability.

There is already a party called The Common Sense Party. I believe that this would thus be illegal?

Did no-one from the branch think to search the Electoral Commission website? I despair...

Or the NEC who approved it, or the conference organiser who published it...

Did the NEC need to approve?

Quote:
6.6 Motions for debate at the Conference must be submitted in accordance with the procedures determined by the NEC from time to time.

Surely UKIP already has a new strapline? I thought it was "Freedom to Choose"?

Well, as I recall, the NEC does get to vote on the motions, which means that the majority of them must have supported it.
