Lightbulb Happy Birthday, Young Independence!

What a clever idea!
Quote:
Would you like to reach out to every electorate turning 18? Well you
can....send Young Independence your electoral register and we will
do the rest:
1.We will send a birthday card to reach them on the day.
2.Two weeks later we send a follow up pack which includes an
introduction letter, DVD, policy booklet and a return envelope.
3.The branch will receive the fee of any electorate who joins.
4.Your branch will be invoiced monthly to spread the cost.
5.Total cost is £1 per electorate.
Young Independence feel very strongly that we are the only youth
group in politics that can give young people a real voice. To achieve
this we need your help.

A very good idea but can we still buy the VR, or do we have to sit in the library and write out all the details. My son use to have a job where he purchased VR's and made a fortune from compiling marketing lists, well not a fortune but quite a lot.

Voters Register, now called Electoral Role, or has that changed as well.

SponPlaque: You thought that VR's were a cloning method to make another Victoria Regina, didn't you Spon.

Things have changed, Bob: Libraries don't stock them, anymore, I believe, because there are now TWO versions:

Electoral roll - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quote:
The register has two formats. The full version of the register is available for supervised inspection by anyone, by legal right. It is this register that is used for voting and its supply and use is limited by law. Copies of this register are available to certain groups and individuals, such as credit reference agencies and political parties.

An 'edited' version of the register, which omits those people who have chosen to 'opt-out', can be purchased by anyone for any purpose.

The full register contains the following information:

voter number (two letters indicating the polling district, followed by a number)
voter's name and address
date of birth (if 18th birthday falls within a year of the register is published)
if the voter has requested a postal vote
after an election, an indication of whether or not that voter cast their vote
This is why Young Independence are asking branches, who are entitled to the full one, to send copies in...
