It may be totally untrue, but there is animated conversation in the coffee houses of England, the UKIP and GLW are now sharing a common 'letter heading'. Some say that it to pre-empt possible legal difficulties as to the true copyright ownership. Others speak of it as significant symbolism; in the same way that the Council of Europe and the EU share the same flag; this is a surreptitious union. The GLW 'moles' in the Secretariat are now becomig openly supportive of their mentor, Who really knows; we can only guess, but there must be some explanation. It could be that this forum's resident Watkinologist, DED, can help to calm the national nerves. Not knowing the gentleman myself, this is a task that must be left to others. First, though, is the central claim true?

Much better site. Shame it is mainly EU focused and still largely a farage vehicle.

I understand that this will be one of the tasks assigned to our new press officer whose identity will no doubt be revealed publicly very soon and who I think is well-suited to the job.

All 3219 pages linked in Google (other than the front page) are now broken links that just get redirected to the front page, it would appear. Not great, but it will catch up in a month or two.

I know it is an old saying about the EU being the Elephant sitting in the corner, but it is true! No political party can implement policy whilst we are governed by the EU! So what is the point of any party saying ,"when we get into power, we will do"! The answer is we will do whatever the EU tells us to do! The EU governing us is not something which 'might' happen in the future, the EU govern us now! As I've said many times before, our MPs in Westminster are just highly paid EU administrators! Some people on this forum talk about gradually building from local councils elections like the Lib Dems have! The Lib Dems are not a good advert for building power from local councils. Nationally they're third of three or last of three whichever way you like to look at it and that is the closest they'll ever get.

Kernow, I agree, I do find it amazing that the intellectual elite on here do not seem to grasp that simple principle that the whole time the EU exists and we are part of it, Britain will never be free.

I (and others on here) am not advocating that we adopt Lib Dem domestic policies, just that we adopt their strategy. I suspect that if UKIP really put it's heart and soul into winning local elections that we would achieved results considerably quicker than the Lib Dems have, simply because we are more of an alternative to the two large parties than they can ever be. In fact, if we got serious as a party about contesting local council elections, I expect the Lib Dems would be the big losers.

mrabody, at the risk of repeating myself, we did exactly that in Swindon, we pushed them into 8 of 11, 4th places. The other 3 were the leader of the lib-dem group and long standing councillors.
My group were rightly proud of this achievement and we continually push the goal posts with our campaigns. There are those on here who would say we were wasting our time. If that is there view then their self professed superior knowledge of politics would seem to be at odds with what us mere mortals are finding on the streets. People want grass roots change. We as a party need to keep sowing the seeds, it is working in areas where the Group believe the message that they are putting out. We do not need those who think we cannot win, they are a liability that no party would want. |

BobFM: Who are the 'elite' to whom you refer, and what do they say which gives you the impression that they are not 'true believers' in their desire to extricate this nation from the EU? While we are on the subject, in which year did you experience your Pauline conversion while on the road to Swindon? Did you vote against the Treaty of Rome based 'Common Market' in the 1975, referendum?
