Innuendo, leaks, etc, etc, etc, no facts other than gc says he,she's seen a document. I'm intrigued, when did it become illegal to have more than one job, except of course if it's written in your contract. When did it become illegal for a man and woman who are related to work for the same organisation. There are hundreds of police men and women who are married. As always more slurs. No Evidence.

If one is an MEP's assistant (which is different) any other employment must be declared on a register of interests. In the case of Ind Dem staff being used by the EUD, however, the issue was not with the staff but with Ind Dem. The rules expressly forbid the use of Political Group resources (Ind Dem is a political group) by Pan European political parties (EUD is one of those). 5 people on Ind Dem contracts were clearly identified as being members of the steering committee of EUD. This is seriously problematic, even their Ind Dem supplied e-mail addresses were clearly listed as contact addresses on the EUD website. There was an investigation. Suddenly, and completely unexpectedly, from out of left-field came the revelation that a number of Ind Dem staff are listed as being EU Observer dedicated. We all thought that scandal had been well and truly brushed under the carpet. Both EUD and EU Observer are closely associated with Jens-Peter Bonde, (President of the former, husband of the head of the latter) who was also co-president of Ind Dem along with Nigel Farage. I did see the list of people dedicated to EU Observer - I had never heard of any of them before, which is a bit odd as I worked for Ind Dem for four years. Interestingly, the list contained some other details, including the fact that some of the Ind Dem staff are based abroad, in countries where there are no Ind Dem MEPs. A bit odd that, and very interesting that the people in question are .... you guessed it, members of the aforementioned steering comittee of the EUD. |

The entire atmosphere of that place seems conducive to corruption.
I don't know what the hell we are doing seemingly financially supporting a pan-European party anyway. The less we have to do with that place, the better. |

I'm sure you can see the difference then in interpretation and given you worked there for 4 years one would have assumed that even though you didn't know these people, they must have at some point appeared, copied in to staff memo's emails etc. They couldn't just have been paper employees.

Wanna bet?
gc is not an idiot, unlike some on this list, and if he says it's so, knowing the system inside out as he does, I wouldn't rule out anything: We talked at conference last year, and a lot of horrendous stuff goes on the membership never hear about - that doesn't mean it doesn't happen...Last edited by SponPlague; 14-08-2008 at 08:23 AM. |

I responded to your Yesterday, 07:30 PM which was in response to my post and copy pasted exactly what you said. I have now looked back to previous pages and have seen the fuller comment. My point still remains that I find it hard to believe people can be 'invisible' for 4 years,
