Consider, yes, but this is the tip of the iceberg, Richard - when was the last UKIP election without allegations of impropriety?

Erm, no, Akebono. Birgit Nilsson, Shirley Bassey or Cleo Laine any day. As for Dr. Who assistants, I must be the only fan who liked Adric - even if he didn't appear at G-A-Y...

The idea of overseas members being able to choose which region they vote in is a tough one. Perhaps there should be a set proceedure, possibly allowing the member to vote in the last home region he resided in? Otherwise I can forsee all sorts of allegations being made...

Do other parties end up with a debacle like this every time they have an internal election?

And incidentally, m'lud, exactly how many candidates IS each member allowed to nominate?

And if Piers Merchant comes over as a town hall jobsworth, that might be because he is on the front line, and if he says a word out of place he will be accused of all sorts of conspiratorial shenanigans!

The rules may be unfair, and I make no further comment on that specifically, but they are the rules until they are changed, or are we now going to get into a situation if an individual member doesn't like the rules, they have to change.

Another case of toys and prams. You join a long list of otherwise valuable members who can't accept that one thing has gone against them and make a song and dance when they can't get their own way.

Does our noble cause benefit from the loss of another hard-working member. I think not. You have played right into the hands of those at the top of the party who hate dissent and shape the rules to meet their own agendas.

Get back in now.

Marta Andreason is being pushed by Farageites for 3 reasons.,
1. The good reason is that her name carries weight-wrongly or rightly.
2.The bad reasons are that she has shown no comprehension of the dire state of UKIp and or any desire to do so. She is taking members money for which if she was at all honest she would admit was for work which was not worth the alleged wages she is getting. On the face of it she is defrauding the members of their money by not giving a fair days work for an enormous part time salary.
But thats the way Farage likes his supporters-compromised.

This is a bit of a mess but I can't see it's something to get so steamed up about - the few bods that there are to administer UKIP can't be blamed for not anticipating every possible snag for every possible situation.

'Democrats Abroad' - the self-explanatory overseas arm of the U.S. party; does anyone think that they don't have an enshrined rule for such a situation? But then ukip was always so small minded. Another Lechlade stalwart bites the dust. Take your ideas and enthusiasm to a place that will appreciate it Spon - good luck. I can't imagine how you stuck it for so long.

Gough is quitely correct.

Spon has been upset and this is a good enuff reason to say "Enough!"

If he has been paying his subscription of twenty notes and basing himself in Zurich and doing things like PDF files and silverline. avi then I concur it is best to send back the memebrship card.

Brigit did well and Stallone should never have been allowed to marry her.
Miss Piper and Master Potter are not as good as the woman who was Tom Baker's assistant.
