I found this on the Ind-UK members only email discussion group, ind-uk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com, and am posting here as it is clearly for public release...

17 July 2008 | 06:34 RUSSELL CLAYDON AN EAST of England Euro MP last night said he had “nothing to hide” after it emerged a member of his own party had complained to police about alleged “financial irregularities”. Jeffrey Titford, a former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), was reported to Essex Police after allegations were made against him and his political advisor, Stuart Gulleford. The pair are now under investigation by police, but they and UKIP have both dismissed the allegations. |

No he hasn't. There will be a new party consisting of him, his missus and the other detractors of Messrs Titford and Gulleford - HULKMAN, Star, Eagle and Fordtit et al.
I don't know why they make the allegations, but it looks like the mods might have to spend a few days purging threads and posters.

Jeffrey Titford is clearly not leaving much room for manoeuvre on this occasion. The East Anglia Times, this very morning, has published a story concerning allegations against Mr Titford/Gulleford, as reported to them by John West. The Police also confirmed their knowledge of the allegations. It will be for others to decide these matters and, presumably, is wholly unrelated to the extant OLAF investigation into Mr Titford. It should be noted that all wrong-doings have been catagorically denied, and that must remain the basis on which we should judge the matter when the full facts are known.
Presumably, issues concerning wrong-doings based on alleged documentary evidence, are either unrealted albeit, parallel concerns, about other matters. However, as the denial is total it must, ipso facto, deny absolutely all other accusations of wrong-doings. Let us leave the matter to evolve in the fullness of time. |

GC, we can let it evolve, but the forum cannot publish unsubstantiated allegations which are now sub judice.

No doubt his defenders and apologists on this forum will say that Titford and Gulleford have behaved reprehensibly by "denying" John West the opportunity to stand for MEP. However, the campaign against Gulleford and Titford on this forum began several months ago, before MEP interviews had taken place. In the circumstances, the committee may be said to have acted responsibly in rejecting John West as a suitable candidate. If West had been approved, I don't doubt that he, or more likely a supporter of his would have still have made a complaint to the police against Gulleford and Titford in order to gain political advantage in the selection process. I'm very glad I don't live in the Eastern Region. In contrast I shared a car with one of the other MEP candidates on our way to the first Southeast Husting's meeting last night. The Hustings was civil and various candidates complimented one another in their speeches, and chatted with each other as we mingled with the party members in attendence. On the way home, the other MEP candidate whom I was travelling with and I critiqued each others speeches and suggested to each other what we could do better. It was internal party politics at its best. |
