Cool

Well. My lady friend's mum reported back on the 'Ull 'Ustings yesterday.
A room filled with G. Bloom's supporters was taken aback as Jonathan Arnott minced all the other three there and all GB could do was keep saying 'I've got the contacts'.
Jason Smith started really well and then faded badly but at least stayed behind to chat, as did the improved David Daniel and JA.
GB simply fled with his local branch members in tow.
Wonder why?

It sounds like you are having a good contest up there - candidates taking different positions and fighting it out publicly but politely at the hustings.

A 'impartial' colleague who was at the Hull hustings saw a very different event to UglyKids friends mum...

Arnott talked in detail but his pesonality didn't come over that well, while Bloom & Smith's personalities stood out, DD spoke very well without actually saying anything.

On the Issues and detail, Arnott & Smith stood out, Bloom & Smith performed best with Daniel just behind. Overall it's looking like Smith has the more rounded skills.

So, the burning issue is: "How clean is the back of UglyKid's friend's mum's fridge?"

Smith is a common surname but you've been rumbled, Jason. Nice try though!

I am not a Smith, although I have met him, thought initially that UglyKid was an Arnott, not that I'm saying Arnott is ugly - lol, just thought I should set the record straight as that was not the report I recieved. Although it's always tricky when infomation is 2nd hand I guess, like from your lady friends mothers sisters friend...

I'll hopfully be going to my local husting on Monday, if I attend I will try offer a balanced assessment.

Having attended a hustings and met the candidates I have decided who I am going to vote for.

My heart said support my local guy Jason but my head says Jonathan. One thing that really matters more than anything is not getting Godfrey back again and from the meeting and reading the words I think Jonathan has the best chance of winning.

Jonathan Arnott is definately my number 1 with Jason Smith my number 2.

I think Toby Horton is a also an excellent candidate but he has made it clear (in my mind anyway) that he does not really want the role of Yorkshire and N Lincs MEP, he just wants to support UKIP and any candidate. I think he only turned up to 1 meeting.

Has anyone else made up their mind?

I wish all candidates the best of luck and am looking forward to the results.

Will there be a 'none of the above' entry?
