Personally if we came top in the European Elections, I could see us getting up to about 5 or 6 MP's in the aftermath in 2010.
Keep dreaming Michael

I can see us saving lots more deposits, but not doing well under FPTP - unless people start to think to we can win under FPTP, which they don't.

I now feel UKIP reached the height of its support in 2004. I think we will either return to pre-2004 levels or lose the lot. The increase in support for Cameron and the rise of the BNP could finish UKIP.

I would love to be at the next hustings! I think both Gulleford and Bannerman will face some tough questions.

There are a huge number of factors that contribute to whether or not we can win Westminster seats under FPTP. Whether people think we can or not isn't one of them - it is a symptom of other factors that are much more important. For example - if people don't know who we are why would they vote for us? If they never hear from us except at a general election why will they vote for us? If they have never voted for us in local elections because we haven't stood in any why will they support in a parliamentary election? If we don't speak about those issues that they care most about (Europe ain't one of them) why would they vote for us. If voters know who their candidate is, know what UKIP stands for, have elected UKIP councillors, and agree with UKIPs message on a variety of domestic issues, they'll be more inclined to vote for us.

The Lib Dems get people elected despite that fact that they are long odds to form a government. It's because they are present, and present an alternative to the other two big parties.

Police investigate MEP claim
17 July 2008 | 06:34

RUSSELL CLAYDON
AN EAST of England Euro MP last night said he had “nothing to hide” after it emerged a member of his own party had complained to police about alleged “financial irregularities”.

Jeffrey Titford, a former leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP), was reported to Essex Police after allegations were made against him and his political advisor, Stuart Gulleford.

The pair are now under investigation by police, but they and UKIP have both dismissed the allegations.
