Young Independence Member Selected for Question Time Programme

Young Independence Member, Michael Heaver, 19, from Cambridge has been selected to take part in BBC1's Question Time Programme on Thursday 10th July at 10.30pm. Young Independence is the UK Independence Party's youth section and Mr Heaver is an enthusiastic member who entered the Question Time competition to find a 'People's Panellist' between the age of 18 and 21. He beat the other shortlisted candidates after they all took part in a screentest at the BBC's Millbank today (Wednesday 9th July).

As a bonus, Michael will also make an appearance on the Breakfast Time programme on BBC1 tomorrow (10th June) after 8.00am.

Jeffrey Titford, the UK Independence Party's MEP for the Eastern Counties said: 'I am delighted to hear that Michael, a member from the Eastern Counties has won the competition and will fly the UKIP flag on the Question Time Programme. From the outset, he has made no secret of his political allegiance to UKIP, as can be seen in his application which was filmed on his mobile phone camera and can be seen on the Question Time website. Michael is ample proof that young people are the future of our Party and I am sure he will do us great credit on the programme. I wish him every success. Young Independence is a relatively new part of the Party but they have already made major progress and this is a huge feather in their cap.'

I suspect he is a right dufus then, who will make UKIP look even worse than it is. The BBC woudn't let him on if they thought he would make UKIP look anything but what they are. A useless bunch of cretins.

I'm delighted he's on QT! It'll will help dispel the myth put about by our enemies that we in UKIP are just a bunch of pensioners! I look forward to seeing the program! No doubt UKIPs enemies on this forum will dismiss his performance even if it's obviously a brilliant one!

I wish him the best as well and congratulations to him for getting through (if he is actually on the program - I need some clarification on that).

I do wish posters, young and old, would not confuse their computers with their televisions.

It's p-r-o-g-r-a-m-m-e please.

I think the real reason he's been selected is so that UKIP are shown to be poorly informed. Which is not the case. Hope he doesn't slip up, that could be costly!
