Default Bob Spink - Off his rocker?

The BNP’s news team reported over the weekend on the Parliamentary Additional Claims Allowance (ACA) and travel expenses claiming record of UKIP MP Bob Spink. Regular visitors to this site will remember that Mr. Spink was elected as a Conservative to represent the constituency of Castle Point, in Essex. However, earlier this year, he defected to Britain’s fastest crumbling party (with the possible exception of the Labour Party) – the UKIP.

Having read our report readers will, we suspect, be as baffled as are we over the comment (emphasised by us in bold) attributed to Mr. Spink in Monday’s edition of the Echo.

We quote:

Bob Spink, Ukip MP for Castle Point, voted in both lobbies - once to retain the cost allowance and the other to remove it.

He said: “This is the only way you can formally record an abstention - to show you were in the House at the time but were not going to vote.

“I have always argued MPs should not set their own salary levels and we should not be paid expenses. I think what I did was entirely consistent with this view.”

So why claim Parliamentary expenses then?

The full article may be found here Echo news from Southend, Basildon, Castle Point,Rayleigh, Rochford, Wickford, Billericay, Thurrock

Confused? We certainly are!

If the BNP weren't worried about UKIP they wouldn't make such a big deal out of publicly slagging them off. They know that UKIP is bigger than them and I fear that their feebly attempted poachings are now starting to make them look a bit... obsessive.

They have been making an issue of the expenses for a while now, Spink has made himself an easy target.

So the BNP is indeed obsessively worried about UKIP.

Fascinating to see that there are certain cretins who post on this board who are doing their best with inflammatory titles to smear Bob Spinks. This new thread has a remarkably similar title to that of Basildon Boy's lower down and neither of the threads they started have any real content
Bob Spinks was quite right to show he was present but abstaining in the vote and until his colleagues accept his view that it should be salaries and no expenses he should rightly continue with the present system. Unfortunately other MPs are determined to carry on with the present system so congratulations to Bob for making his consistent views known

I wrote to Spink a couple of months ago congratulating him on his defection.

I received a cyclostyled letter which did not answer any of the points I raised, together with an 'invitation' to pay money to attend a garden party somewhere in darkest Essex.

Filed - straight in my bin.

The way he voted is not being question.

He said MP's should not claim expenses but he has claimed over £120k in expenses. So if he doesnt believe in MP's claiming expenses why has he gladly taken £120k from the tax payer?
That is what is being questioned.

Please prove that:
1. He said that no MP should claim any expenses whatsoever
2. He took £120,000 via expenses

I fear that you may have slightly exaggerated under information from the pitiful BNP website's biased reporting here, blueblood.

I provided a link to a newspaper that quotes him and the BNP used the information which shows the expenses claimed by MP's.
