Default Proposed UKIP policy - Scrap Speed Cameras and Parking Restrictions

The policy speaks for itself, and it will be wildly popular with the driving public.

Smash the cameras, paint over yellow lines and sack the scumbag warden Gestapo.

It's a no-brainer.

I'd scrap the speed cameras, but would keep yellow lines in most places. The way some people park the centres of our towns would grind to a halt as people left insufficent room for other cars to get through. You also would get people literally abandoning cars for days on end if there were no parking restrictions. Could you imagine Heathrow without yellow lines?

Speed enforcement is targetted at a set of speed limits established a long time ago when road conditions were completely different. It needs a real debate about why we even need speed limits at certain times of day or night on certain roads. I'd remove motorway speed limits between dawn and about 9 am on summer weekend mornings and let the people who have fast motors enjoy themselves (no tolerance of drinking or drugs in such conditions and people should be insured). We need a society where people can enjoy themselves not have pettyfogging restrictions placed on their every move.

.
I totally agree! There is a huge number of inconsiderate people who without some sort of curtail would park anywhere that was convenient for them. Speed cameras are needed, there are a lot of 80mph drivers who would increase their top speed to 100+mph without that nagging fear that there just might be an unmarked Police car tracking them! 80 mph on a lot of dual carriage ways is too fast for the road, 80+mph on same roads is suicidal
