Default UKIPs latest leaflet

Below is the latest leaflet sponsored by Alan Bown i think it is a great leaflet that will appeal to the likes of me and every other Eurosceptic, unfortunately that is all it will appeal too.
Have UKIP not realised even after its dismal election results this message will never work we have been pushing it for 10 years and it has got us nowhere.

I cannot believe this is anything more than a deliberate move by the the leadership to keep UKIP as a pressure group rather than promote it as a fully policed party.

I will carry on banging the 'numbers' drum. Britain does not pay £39 per day to Brussels. It is simply untrue.

As for the leaflet in general, this sort of thing does need saying. If UKIP doesn't say it, who will?

I am not sure that it will convince anyone - it is so extreme sounding that most people will discount it I think. Nor does it really resonate. I don't feel like I am living in a different country.

WRT the pressure group argument; I think that it is time to give up expecting UKIP to be anything more. Accept that it is a pressure group and hope that they can just do that one thing really well... some time in the future.

The CIB and or any other Eurosceptic pressure group.

I will accept it when they admit it, at the minute they say they are a full political party they attract people that are looking for a real alternative to the Lib/Lab/Con who find themselves frustrated and bitter after they realise the party they campaigned for and supported was only ever a single issue party.

Put it this way we know the Tories would like to cut taxes but they don't go on about it relentlessly.

But when was the last time you ever saw anything from them? UKIP is a pressure party that applies pressure by taking votes away from other parties. When the Tories were in trouble and looked like they would struggle to form a majority in Government, this was particularly powerful.

Totally agree, but my argument is UKIP presents itself as a fully policed party yet every leaflet every campaign is promoted with Say No to the EU.
Like a lot of people i did not join UKIP just because of the EU and i would have never joined if it was just a single issue party so in a way i feel conned i was looking for a fourth way a fourth party that was open and transparent that reflected the true needs and opinions of the British public.

Just kept my eyes open long enough to observe the leaflet is scape-goating the Poles and the Hungarians. Wrong targets. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't hurt them.

. . . They're too far away.

I was in my local post Office recently. Around the building there are leaflets and posters warning that our Post offices are being closed. They asked us to sign a petition and write to our local M.P. I told the manager that our M.P.s could do nothing because this is an E.U. directive they will go along with.
She looked perplexed. Hardly anyone, even people involved realise how much affect - mainly negative - the E.U. has on their daily lives and habits. I suggest UKIP need to highlight these important local issues and keep the more general points for the party magazines were they can be explained more fully.

I think this leaflet is hitting all the wrong notes. Although not intended, for those who don't know our party well - it strikes far too nationalistic a tone. It can be taken very easily an anti european/ xeneophobic sentiment which is never going to get votes on any scale and does not represent the average ukiper. It is a democratic argument not a nationalistic one. These sort of leaflets give out all the wrong signals. s 'We Want Our Country Back' etc etc. They are not going to resonate with people on mass

This is far from being a new leaflet. That said for those of us who talk to people on the street the issues contained within it are important. People do feel they have lost their country for all sorts of reasons. Why is it that 88% of the population said when asked would they leave the EU if it meant regaining our borders said yes. Why is it now that the majority want out of the EU. People are starting to wake up to the damage the EU is doing. It is up to us to keep highlighting where the EU is the cause of local problems. The Campaign for an Independent Britain have some excellent leaflets doing this, which we are circulating locally.
