Good timing - by happy coincidence Trevor Colman is on the potential MEP list. I wonder whether any other candidates will show such initiative?

I wasn't criticising, I was saying that it was good timing. Trevor organised the very popular billboard campaign that I voted against too. Although I thought that it was a terrible idea, it showed a lot of drive and initiative to organise it - something that UKIP's MEPs haven't really demonstrated (with one exception).

There are two subjects which really does animate the electorate (1) hospital changes
(2) P.O. closures. I have posted about hospitals previously. Post Office closures, must be the final consequence after other options have been considered. Shops which accommodate a P.O. counter could be given a rate rebate, for example, but it is certain the EU would oppose that. We could appoint an NEC member or some other person, to explore all the possible options to keep post offices open, when they are rejected, present that as evidence to the public as to the nature of the real problem. A meeting in Chichester against P.O. closures, was so well attended that an alternative venue had to be quickly arranged: a local church hall was obtained. UK supporters stood outside giving out literature which identified the EU 'dimension'. A reverend gentleman, told them to desist, as he did not want post office closures made into a political issues. Do we need to say more. Imposing Business Rates on hospices for cancer suffers, could be identified as a moral issue, but it appears that isn't a matter which which is of concern to the clergy either |
