Default Custom wallpaper - sad self-indulgent but I like it

I'm not sure where to put this thread tbh, mods feel free to move it wherever

I was bored this evening so decided to be self-indulgent and make a custom wallpaper for myself with a UKIP theme

Many belive our £ symbol has outlived its use. I strongly disagree. It may no longer be a rallying call of the anti eu people , but it is a sign of pride in our nation and party. It is an ice breaker when strangers ask why we wear it . We can explain about UKIP and the EU and , perhaps recruit a new member. It enables exisitng members recongnise each other at once.

I urge every member from party leader to new recruit to wear their £ with pride , it screams ''I am a UKIPPER and pround of it''

I agree!

I have to say, even back when I was a Cameron-supporter, the UKIP logo has been my favourite of any political party ever.

I won't forgive Cameron for getting rid of the Tory Torch.

In my opinion, the logo needs to be become more modern. UKIP shouldn't be about the pound anymore, we need a more broadly appealing logo which represents our full raft of policies. What this is, as of yet, I’m not sure. It needs to look to the future though.

The pound logo, in my experience, simply plays up people's pre-conceived ideas of UKIP as a bunch of obsessive Little Englanders who are totally irrelevant when it comes to any issue which doesn’t involve the EU. If we are to make serious progress, this must change.

Our countries and UKIPs pound sign will really come into its own and fuse people from every party and none when they try to make us give it up,and take the failing euro.

It will be a rallying sign to the pro pound masses,we must keep it, for now at least.

From the time of the 1999 Euro-election, the the £-sign was the symbol at which we urged people to vote. 'Look for the £, sign, vote at the £ sign, vote UKIP'. We would be most unwise to change that voting relationship between UKIP and the £ sign with only a year before the EU elections.

I remember some years ago being on a march in Cardiff. It was an overcast morning followed by drizzle in the afternoon. Many of our members were literally wrapping themselves in the Union flag for cover. A more unpleasant sight would be difficult to envisage. On my return home I designed a Party flag and sought permission from the NEC to have them made. This was done, and soon those flags became familiar at UKIP AGMs', branch meetings, and even on television news reports.

I think that it is important that every branch is mindful of presentation and good organisation. The choice of venue should always be the best their resources can afford.
This is good business practice, for quality events attract better donations, than those at some parsimoniously organised one. Over the next few months as many branches as possible should give thought to their image and resources. Once branch resources have been obtained; table covers, both hall and vehicle load-speakers, O.H. projectors,
and similar items have been bought, they are there for many years. The branch of which I was chairman for many years raised money, certainly from meetings, but also from plant and book sales, Christmas baazars and similar ones at Eastertime and the summer.
Anything not sold we would take to a car-boot sale. Every autumn I would write to members apologising to those who are house-bound or otherwise engaged, that we do not always give them an opportunity to help as much as they would like. A donation from them to us, should more than exonerate us from our previous dereliction of duty. Many hundreds of pounds and more, would be received. Seek a few local donors who will provide help at elections and other times. Once this help is provided, demonstate that you are worthy of their generosity by the conduct of the branch. When things go wrong, as the Immortal Bard reminded us, ' the fault, dear Brutus, lies not in our stars but in ourselves..' No excuses, just contrition.

I do like our current logo, and I think it would be a mistake to change it at this stage. However I think it is important to stay open, and if one was to come up with a sensational new logo with 'wow factor' then I think we should consider. However I don't think we should change for the sake of change sake.
