Why should anyone have put him up to it? He doesn't come across as anyone's mouthpiece as far as I can see.

HULKMAN, this is not a UKIP forum. Anybody who posts here is entitled to post on any and all sub-fora including UKIP General Issues.
You seem to be splitting hairs. And confusing me, if no one else.

It says at the top of my computer "UKIP General Issues".
Everyone here is talking about UKIP issues.

So if it isn't UKIP issues what is it - a duck or a lemon?

We are simply pointing out that making speeches generalizing all immigrants as criminals is not sensible & not accurate.
Nor has that been said by anyone , or even implied.

Yes, thank you. I would like to point out, if it was not clear, that this thread was not supposed to be a personal attack, merely an opinion on a particular issue which I felt was unfortunately highlighted at this event. I do of course expect many to disagree and that is the nature of debate, but I took this as an example of what I consider to be a general problem and am in no way criticising the time and effort put in by those involved.

This is the third thread today that you have decided to mention the leader of YI where she has absolutely nothing to do with the topic being discussed. It is very bizarre.

It appears that you have a personal vendetta which you are trying to air at every opportunity by making tenuous links to completely non-related issues, which quite frankly just makes you look silly and I am sure everybody can see that.

Quite obviously Alex you were not at the conference, I was and I heard no reference to any generalising that all immigrants were criminals, I would suggest that your informant has got it wrong.

Unionist thank you for your analysis, but as GC might well have said, did you take into account all the variables, such as time, time distribution, day distribution, whether there was an 'R' in the month.

IMMIGRANTS TO BLAME FOR A SURGE IN CRIME CLAIMS POLICE CHIEF
Wednesday June 4,2008
By Tom Whitehead Home Affairs Correspondent

IMMIGRANTS are behind a surge in crime, one of the country’s top officers warned
yesterday.

Cambridgeshire Chief Constable Julie Spence said three nationalities were
causing the biggest problems for her beleaguered force.

Rises in assaults and knife crime were worst among Poles, Lithuanians and Iraqi
Kurds, she told MPs. And the effect of mass migration under Labour had had an
“immense” impact on police resources.

Mrs Spence, who has regularly warned about the impact of immigration, raised
concerns that the three nationalities, who have recently arrived in Britain in
large numbers, tend to carry knives.

She said: “We have had the Iraqi Kurds who carry knives and the Poles and the
Lithuanians.

So I guess the lady should be sacked for generalising.

Yep, most Poles, Lithuanians and Iraqi Kurds obey our laws most, if not all, of the time. Lots of Brits carry knives, although not as many as once did. People working as farm labourers and in factories frequently have a requirement to carry a knife as people seem to prefer their own tools rather than the ones provided by work.

Young blokes away from home drink a lot, especially east Europeans, and there will be a disproportionate number of fights amongst them. My dad used to tell me of the large numbers of fights amongst migrant Irish, Scots, Poles etc after the war when they were rebuilding the bombed cities and had a few wets after leaving the building sites. Young British soldiers serving overseas or away from home also used to get into lots of fights. Saturday night in Aldershot or Darlington (Catterick) would end in mayhem.

Police resources have to be targetted, but the all consuming paperwork is the problem.
