Default The Surrey show.

Even though today was possibly the wettest day since Noah bought wellies, I had a great time at the UKIP stand talking to people and handing out copies of the "UKIP Surrey News".
Thanks to John Moran for inviting me and all the other people there including Toby, who was the only person there who got as drenched as me.

I love stuff like this. Getting out and talking to people and showing the flag is a big part of what we are about.

Well done Raymond! Nice to hear about someone actually doing something positive instead of just moaning about the state of play!

Agree. A positive post to balance so much negativity. The world is aligned.

I should mention that UKIP also had a Caravan at the Laughton Fair this past weekend. We had intended to be there for all three days on the weekend but in the end did not open for business yesterday due to the weather.

We had volunteers from various East Sussex constituencies (mostly Lewes though as that is where the fair took place) and handed out several hundred of the Remote Control DVD and obtained more than 120 signatures on a petition calling for a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty (we would have a lot more signtures but we were focused on handing out DVDs rather than asking for signatures).

Generally the response was quite positive. We were the only political party with a table at the fair. I was surprised that the BNP didn't have a table as they keep telling us that UKIP is finished and they are the emerging force to be reckoned with. No doubt it was too soon after the London elections for them to feel confident of successfully manning a table.

Some of our volunteers, Sunday afternoon. We even have the future UKIP prime minister present (the chap in the yellow hat).

Well done ! I know lots of people who do a lot of positive work for UKIP, stuffing envelopes, door to door leafleting, bric a brac sales and coffee mornings (to raise money) Petition signing on street corners all for the good of the cause! Of course there are a few who pay their membership, never attempt to help out and do nothing but moan! Like the Harry Enfield character "You don't want to do it like that"!

Did the Laughton fair last year with John and Kris.
Brilliant people. If we had another thousand like those 2 we would sweep all before us. Sadly I could not make it this year but I hope to make the Ardingley one.
