One party is pro Unions and those of us on this forum who are old enough, remember well the "Winter of discontent"! The other is rabidly pro EU! Most UKIPers I know (including me ) are not too keen on the EU or the Unions running our Country! The core voters who vote for the LIB/Lab are! If not why the hell else would they vote for those two Party's?

I don't think that union support or the EU factor into how people vote a great deal.

The Tories have made it clear they will not have one. They contend there is no mechanism under EU rules to allow it. The only possible avenue is a Referendum in/out vote, and then we would have to negotiate out exit with all the other 26 and that would mean billions in compensation. The Tories will never take that risk. After all they are pro EU, anything else is just a smoke screen. This is why UKIP need this as their lead tactic both in the Europeans and in any subsequent elections. The party machine should be producing a simple policy document which states consisely the view of all four parties.
