It's like expecting people to turn up to a promotional event for washing powder; why would they?

People already have an overload of advertising messages. The last thing that they want to hear is a party shamelessly plugging itself. They get enough of that from the TV news, the papers and the web.

I went to a Tory public meeting in 2001 when I was still a Tory of sorts. It was for the GE. Cameron was the candidate seeking to retake the seat that Woodward had given to Labour by his defection. Over half of the 20 or so people at most, in a town of 15,000, were sitting Tory councillors. Mass rallies are over for most ordinary candidates.

This is my whole argument UKIP stands in an election and tells the people what it wants it doesn't stand for what the local electorate want.
It doesn't embrace local issues it doesn't fight on these issues, it holds a meeting that advertises itself as saying NO TO THE EU , well with that message I'm sure you are guaranteed to have people queuing at the door to vote UKIP

I would have thought that a PUBLIC MEETING would attract a few more than 53 people or so.

But it really isn't a public meeting, despite it being called that. It is a UKIP promotional meeting open to the public.

Would you go to a Labour party promotional meeting? Nor would anyone else

I would think it was as advertised by the" UKIP ORGANISERS,"and that is,a public meeting.

What we saw tonight in Moscow was not a uefa final,it was only a soccer final,as per AB.

They need to bill it as X-Factor auditions. Then really pretend to be auditions, but have a Simon Cowell look alike telling them that the EU sucks.
