Default Sikh Protest Outside EU Parliament Results in Action

Panthic Weekly: Sikh Protest Outside EU Parliament Results in Action

Quote:
Last year although Sikhs were still not given free access to the European Parliament, alternative arrangements were made at London House and the Eastman Building in the EU Parliament for MEPs to address and meet Sikhs.
This year the Eastman Building was eventually provided, but only after Sikhs and MEPs caused disruption at the start of the day in the presence of the media. MEPs from the UK Independence Party (UKIP), including Tom Wise, Derek Clark, Gerard Batten and Michael Nattrass took the lead with this.
Good work, if only it wasn't tarnished by having a crooks name against it.

Agreed. Just proves my point that in everyones eyes, Wise is still a UKIP MEP.

Otherwise (no pun intended) why did UKIP allow him to be one of the people from the party to 'take the lead' in this. Perhaps a cleverer strategy would have been to ask Tom not to turn up - but that would take leadership.

C Steam

250-300 Sikhs milling around. I cannot forbid any MEP from our parrty or not from meeting up with constituents. Some Labour and Lib Dems turned up. But it was Derek Clark and Mike Nattrass who did the lion's share of the work. Do you think press officers can tell people what to write?

see? The unconscious inference in your above is that Wise is a UKIP MEP. That's all I'm saying, that quite simply in everyone's minds including the media and, in fact, yours, that Wise is a UKIP MEP.

Just sack the tosser.

Last word on the subject and I have ben here before Mr Wise is a UKIP member. He is an MEP and if he was in a similar position in Westminster he would be regarded as 'Independent UKIP'. The whip was withdrawn. He does not sit with the UKIP MEPs in the chamber, he does not attend UKIP meetings.

He is not a UKIP MEP.

What part of this don't you understand? Or are you being disengenous?

Gawain as a forum with such a title, it lacks the essential element.

I believe that he very recently claimed that he does attend UKIP meetings in Brussels. I might be wrong of course

Gawain - since clearly wise is not 'not of our party' then you have clearly stated that wise is "an MEP from our party".

Which part of that don't you understand?
