I`ve just had a read of the articles re the situation in Ireland and it`s looking hopeful .Clearly quite a considerable amount of voters are unimpressed by any further integration .
I was discussing the Irish Referendum with someone in the know a few days ago and he tells me that the No Campaign over there would be happy to see some support from the UK coming over to help .The majority view from the No Campaign was that Brits should stay away but now it seems that they would like a bit of support .I`d name my informant but I haven`t asked his permission . Needless to say the Yes Campaign have millions of Euros at their disposal and the No Campaign have a good deal less ,however the Irish have minds of their own as we all know. |

Yes,I agree about egos,if this Irish idea is to become reality,it will take an amalgamation of forces under the local Irish who are inviting us to help them.
All we do should be done on their direction, this will make them responsible and us others independently supportive of their aims,as long as they are to be directed at halting the Tricky EU Treaty. |

Poll finds support for Lisbon Treaty running at two to one STEPHEN COLLINS, Political Editor SUPPORT FOR the Lisbon Treaty has increased significantly since January but there are still a large number of undecided voters who hold the key to the final result, according to the findings of the latest Irish Times /TNS mrbi poll. The poll showed that 35 per cent of voters intend to vote Yes, up nine points since the last Irish Times poll at the end of January, while the number intending to vote No is 18 per cent, up eight points. However, 47 per cent of voters either don’t know how they will vote in the referendum on June 12th, or say they won’t vote. |
