Nope. It is entirely reasonable for Tom to describe himslef as a UKIP MEP should he (wrongly) want to - the electorate would not see a difference. Withdrawal of the whip is not an expulsion from the party - which is what needs to happen.

It`s all too little too late .Mote was swiftly dealt with ,the Tom Wise saga has become a fiasco ,he clearly brought the party into disrepute ages ago .

You do not seem to understand there is a rather fundamental difference between a UKIP member and a UKIP MEP. Or are you being deliberately obtuse?

One is a payed-up member of a political party; the other is an elected member of the EU parliament. As an MEP, to take the UKIP whip he must be accepted by the chief whip in the parliament (NF leader of Ind Dem Group) and the other members. If the whip has been removed he is no longer a UKIP MEP. Full stop.

He can take up the title whatever other party or group he wishes if they accept him, or just remain an independent MEP.

Tom Wise is not a UKIP MEP, and hasn't been so for quite a while.
