Default Andrew Edwards

From the UKIP website:

quote

The UK Independence Party has decided not to prosecute Anthony Edwards, who in November last year sent to a great many UKIP members and supporters and to the national press an e-mail designed to look like an official UKIP press release from Nigel Farage.

ends

I think this is just as well. Since they can't even get his name right the chances of any evidence presented being accurate, had a prosecution gone ahead, would seem to be slim.

I vaguely remember the email they are talking about, and while the first few lines looked like they might have been from Farage, it very quickly became evident that it was a spoof. It was a confession to embezzlement IIRC. I find it hard to believe that anyone took it seriously.

I remember the email. It was quite obvious that it did not originate from UKIP.

Most people seem to be unaware of the difference between lose and loose.

I wonder how much they spent on legal fees to tell them that there wasn't a case?

I wonder why they dont use Bob Spink's lawyers-he has already got two newspapers to publish retractions allegations of misbehaviour while Farage has not yet managed one.
Do they still use Benson Mazure Zuckerman's firm.

Don't any of UKIPs lawyer members offer the advice for free?

Better than poking a few leaflets through doors.

I believe that was another one of my NEC suggestions that never even made it on to the agenda...

Perhaps they already knew what the response would be?
