Default 15.8% for UKIP in Surrey

15.8% achieved for UKIP by Margaret Curran in Surrey.

She spent the weeks prior to the election door-knocking and distributing CREC's purple postcards calling on the Queen to insist we get a referendum on the E.U. Constitution/Treaty.

She has generously telephoned this morning to thanks us for the postcards (which she personally paid for) and to say it was the CREC cards that 'made all the difference'.

But in truth it was her hard work

Here is some background information regarding the Hartlepool results. We had 7 candidates but concentrated our efforts on 4 wards. The results in those 4 wards you can judge for yourselves.
Foggy Furze Ward Martyn Aiken 396 votes elected 36%
Fens Ward George Springer 417 votes. lost by 2 votes. 27%
Rossmere Dave Pascoe 373 votes 28%
Park Eric Wilson 522 votes 29%
Average 30%
The 3 paper candidates averaged 11.5%
These results give us a strong platform for fighting E.U. and General Elections. That is why we must fight local elections at every opportunity.

Eric, I would love for the Hartlepool UKIP Branch to compile a "UKIP Guide to winning local elections.." seeing as you guys are now starting to set the pace we should all be aiming to keep up with.
Bloody good effort, well done.

Those who attended the Telford Conference were able to hear Steve Allison at an excellent seminar he presented to explain the Hartlepool Approach in some detail. Unfortunately there were no facilities to do the same at the Troxy Centre this year. Hopefully a Campaign Planning Session will be included in the next UKIP Conference (Organising committee take note?).

Steve has also drawn up a template campaign plan which is available to any legitimate UKIP Candidate who asks for it and he has offered to hold training days in any region or county that would like to invite him to do so. The Campaign Plan Template is not available on the website or on general release since why give it away to the enemy.

We would certainly love the template here in Hampshire.
We are working hard and slowly getting better but could do with some workable strategies.

I know some people in UKIP who don't agree with concentrating on efforts in one ward.

Disappointing result for UKIP in Cardiff (Whitchurch and Tongwynlais division):

398 votes - 1.6%.

The Conservatives now hold every seat in the Whitchurch division, going from 3 seats to 4. Labour have lost their only seat in the division.

Cardiff - Election information

Of course there are. The figures on the BBC website refer to ones we've successfully defended or won during this election. There will be councillors defending their seats next year and the next and so on.
