The weakness is people with no conception of internal party discipline.
It does not mean members should bow their knee. It means having the knowledge that there are many enemies outside waiting to take advantage of internal divisions. Other parties do not fight silly little battles in public. The people who let minor (and they ARE minor, no matter what the trolls here say) internal issues be used by the enemies of the party are guilty of giving the enemy ammunition.
The reality is many members of this party have no knowledge of what goes on in the other parties and how they deal with their difficulties. The secret lies in knowing that whatever the failings of any of our members and officials, the REAL enemies are those people on forae like this and in email lists that want nothing more than to see us fail for their own purposes. They will agree with anything you say to cause fractures in the party and call for resignations to pretend to support you but their agenda is to destroy us.

I say again. Don't feed the trolls.

Discipline is important, but not as important [particularly for a small party] as developing the talent that arrives on your doorstep and treating those who are prepared to invest a great deal of time and effort with the greatest respect.

LAW AND ORDER CONFERENCE
MAY 2008

John West of UKIP Suffolk is pleased to announce that the UK Independence Party will be holding its first conference devoted to Law and Order on Saturday 31st May at the Woodbridge Community Hall, Station Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk, IP12 4AU. The conference will start at 11.00 and will finish at 4.30. Entry is free and refreshments will be provided.

Speakers will include:

David Campbell Bannerman, Deputy Leader of UKIP.

Gerard Batten, UKIP MEP for London.

Mike Nattrass, UKIP MEP for the West Midlands.

John West, Conference Organiser and UKIP Suffolk Press Officer.

Paul Nuttall, UKIP researcher for the IND DEM Group.

Chris Hudson, UKIP member.

David Fraser, Former Probation Officer and Criminal Intelligence Analyst with the Criminal Intelligence Service. David is also the author of the best selling book ‘A land Fit for Criminals’.

A Representative from Young Independence.

Topics under discussion: UKIP’s new Law and Order policy document, capital punishment, terrorism, zero tolerance policing, juvenile crime, immigration and the rise in crime.
