I`m not so sure that it is particularly respectable, not from my perspective anyhow .
It has not answered the perfectly respectable questions about certain aspects of its accounting practices ,the leadership election descended to a disgraceful level of backbiting and dodgy practices. From what I saw of the disciplinary committee hearings they left a great deal to be desired ,the Tom Wise saga was/is appalling handled ,need I go on . But then look at the other parties ,the Tories recent gerrymandering of its MEP list is a classic case of bad faith and blatant chicanery ,We all know what Lib /Lab lot are like ..It`s just that UKIP was going to be different that`s all . |

That's not true. What the Liberals offer is a democratic party. It must be clear to all that NF is an autocrat who has the party pretty much in his control - capable individuals come, show they have talent, rise to the glass ceiling, get frustrated and go unless they are sycophant by nature. This wouldn't be so bad if he did not have his own agenda, which is at odds with majority of members - who want to change our relationship with the EU. NF wants a career in the EU Parliament.
In the Liberal Party at least anyone who disagreed with existing policy could make their case and, if they were able to convince their fellow members of their case, could expect party policy to change accordingly. My suggestion is only for those who have become disaffected by UKIP - those who are happy with the party should, obviously, stay. |

I hope theres a high turn out and the voters.vote tactically to keep the BNP out.It would be tragic if they got any assembly members elected.I am no UKIP supporter but I do hope hey retain there seats instead of losing them to the vile BNP.

Presumably 'respectable' means non-racist as used by Lord Pearson, so he is not giving an unlimited endorsement. However, I don't think there is much disagreement here that he right about UKIP telling the truth on our membership of the EU.

NF does a good job pointing out what is wrong with the EU within the limits of the public platforms he is given - which is right and proper. However, having stirred up an antagonism it is essential that an alternative is offered which meets with the approval of the majority of the voters - this is what he fails to do. He is good at condemning, but useless at providing a popular alternative.

Millennium3
This is a topic created about the London elections but you have gone on and on about Farage as usual. Why have you not even been willing to mention the UKIP Mayoral Candidate in a topic about the London elections? Do you oppose "Homes for London families, not newcomers", and the national policy to, "end mass immigration" (both highlighted in the Mini Manifesto)? Do you denounce Batten just as you relentlessly denounce Farage? Should UKIP voters vote Barnbrook on May 1st in your opinion? If not who? Get with reality for once Millennium3, Nigel Farage is not contesting this election. UKIP is contesting this election and everything you write on this forum demonstrates that you will be delighted if Gerard Batten does not get a credible result in the Mayoral Election and UKIP does not have any Assembly members elected. |
