Strange. Not what I heard. Wonder who your source was for what is probably misinformation.

Charlie/Douglas/Others

It does not help anyone, let alone UKIP, to trade in rumours. May I suggest you establish your facts before posting? This also saves you either from looking foolish or, worse, a liar.

It is very easy to check on these things. This is what I did (a) phoned Roger Knapman's office (b) checked the European Parliament sign-in records

Thus I quickly established the truth:

(a) Roger Knapman was in England all that week; he did not go to Brussels. His office was quite open with me and told me exactly what he was doing. I also established that he did not sign in to the EP that week

(b) The so-called "mandatory" meeting was not mandatory. I spoke to three people who were involved with the meeting, all confirmed it was not mandatory. I now also have a copy of the meeting notice. It does not call a mandatory meeting.

(c) As a matter of interest Roger Knapman was not the only MEP absent. I am told it is very rare for all MEPs to be present.

So that is the truth. What I'm afraid I can't work out is why some people seem to be spreading untruths - I don't see what it achieves.

Perhaps you would like to establish the truth of the following then:

If there was an important meeting in Brussels which included discussion about whether RK was to remain in the Ind Dem Group (somewhat crucial I would think); and one would assume he would have been given notice and know all about it. Why wasn't he there? Why didn't he go there to discuss something important about his own affairs?

One would also assume he would want to discuss such an important matter with his MEP colleagues before he goes off to the SW to discuss it with his supporters there.

Someone is trying to sell me a pup - and I don't like it. I tend to believe what people tell me if in good faith. When I get conflicting information like this it is not good for the party.

Then take it up with the person who spread the lie about RK being in Brussels on the day in question.

You can raise it with him at the next NEC meeting.

Like I said, there is a war going on and they appear to be actively briefing against each other now.

Is it possible, Douglas, that you have been the unwitting partner in a smear against RK? We have talked about the UKIP whispering network before.

Remember when they tried to claim that RS was a BNP member? That involved a press officer, and was the reason he left (after NF refused to withdraw it, apologise or discipline anyone).

Lawrence Webb was caught out smearing me and refused to even acknowledge my emails to him.

Mark Croucher was caught out signing up under another name on this forum to spread false information about me.

And those are just the ones that I can think of off the top of my head that I personally experienced. I dread to think of how many go unnoticed by their victims.

.
Actually, Mark Croucher was caught letting his local campaign team use his computer.

To suggest anything else is a lie by Butcher. It doesn't matter how many times you repeat it Tony, it still ain't true.

But he's certainly right that this is a hotbed of misinformation, as he's just proved. As to whether the information was false, who can remember after all this time?

It was very convenient timing, Mark. You're so full of spin. You do realise that UKIP was supposed to be against spin?

Am I the only one to notice that whenever NF faces a crisis, large or small, Mark Croucher seems to come out of retirement to support him on this forum?

Yes. Imagine having a campaign team during an election. Staggering. Or maybe I'm just dizzy after all that spinning.

Really? What crisis is he facing at the moment? I thought I simply pointed out originally that your statement that he cost us Kilroy and Sykes was blatantly false.
