Independent UKIP has some supporters
Default What really motivates Star?

Total propriety within UKIP or seeking 'whiter than white' UKIP leaders cannot be the answer as he/she is a supporter of Tom Wise who has issues sufficient for him to have had the UKIP whip withdrawn.

Just someone out to attack as many people as possible, I think. Anyone who is associated with the current leadership.

Somebody else out to turn this forum into a set of partisan camps. It's part of the "you're either for me or against me" mindset that is eating away at large parts of UKIP.

Don't think so. I'm one and I would have known of his presence on your planet.

Without meaning this in any way as a personal attack on Star, I would suggest that he/she is demonstrating the posting style of a typical Farage hater. The problem is that the postings become so desperate for something to attack with that they cease being reasonable criticism or opinion, and simply become attacks for the sake of attacks.

It is a shame because there is plenty of material for critics of Farage to work with. It is perfectly normal and healthy in a political party for the leadership to be constantly questioned, and indeed UKIP seems remarkably stable when compared to the leadership shenanigans of the Tories and the Lib Dems. I am not sure what the life expectancy of a Tory or Lib Dem leader is, but I suspect that Farage has already beaten it. Other parties chop and change their leaders on a regular basis if they aren't performing to a high level.

Anthony I feel Farage will get to run the party until the next European elections at least. If we have a poor European election then, and only then will the whips be out.

Why the question Re. leadership?
Nigel will be Leader until the next leadership election - as normal.
Leaders come and leaders go with the normal process.

As for the original question:

'Star' is just another agent provocateur. That is obvious from the constant stream of anti-UKIP propaganda. No problem - the party is big enough to sustain their attacks now, and as Tony says so long as the questions are fair ones .... fine ! Bring it on !

.. but don't expect to be answered Star. If we don't want to answer because you are a pain ... you don't get the answers. Ask nicely and make them relevant and you might get the answers.

I would say that sounds about right. If they lose both seats in London, the pressure will increase on him I suspect. If UKIP's vote falls below the 2.4% of the 2005 general election, then he will really be under pressure to get some results. However, I don't sense any great desire amongst UKIP members to seek a leadership election before the EU elections regardless of UKIP's electoral performance, so Douglas is probably right.
