Tom Wise and Nigel Farage. Double standards?

Tom Wise is being investigated by Olaf and is suspended by UKIP.

Nigel Farage is being investigated by Olaf and yet does not face suspension.

Is this fair?

I should also point out that Mr Wise is still very popular in the East. This is despite repeated attempts by the Regional Organiser to label him "a crook."

He has also told branches not to invite him to meetings or accept donations from him. He claims that any money given by Mr Wise is "tainted." Someone should remind him that in this country you are innocent till proven guilty.

It doesn't matter. Whilst someone is under investigation for fraud it is imperative that UKIP does not accept their money. We've already had the EC gunning at UKIP for a lesser indiscretion.

I think that the two things are very different. Tom Wise has admitted using his expenses to buy a car for himself and has already been forced to pay back the money that he gained unlawfully using some dodgy accounting (or what most people would call fraudulently).

Farage being 'under investigation' doesn't mean anything, unless he is found guilty of something.

But the RO should not be telling members that Mr Wise is a crook. As I said before innocent till proven guilty. He even claims that Mr Wise confessed to him that he was guilty of fraud. If this is the case why has Mr Reeve refused to put his claims in writing and present it to Olaf or the NEC? Surely if someone admits to you they are guilty of fraud you have a duty to go to the police and report them.

Star, a supporter of Tom Wise. What a bonkers party this is. The 'Star' of the past week or so on this forum should be denouncing Tom Wise not backing him. Noone could've been in any doubt as to the partisan nature of this person but coming here and backing Wise is a shock to me that is for sure.
