Default 5 April Bristol Programme

Taken form the site Stop the Treaty

The programme for the conference is still subject to change, as events develop, but is now taking provisional shape.

Speakers from the platform will include Delroy Young, Trevor Colman, Professor Tim Congdon, the Earl of Dartmouth, and Roger Knapman. These will develop the challenges we face, and actions which can still be taken to stop the Lisbon Treaty passing into law.

There will be an IT presentation showing street campaigning, but also showing the latest results of opinion polls, on the Treaty, on UK membership of the European Union, and on UKIP’s election chances.

There will be an ‘Any Questions’ panel, which will respond to questions from the audience. Panellists will include Dr David Abbott and Eric Edmond, a newly-elected member of the NEC.

And there will be an opportunity for an open debate on a number of resolutions, following reports given by co-ordinators who have been bringing together your opinions and suggestions as to how we can move forward.

On the website they are asking for ideas etc to be sent in, see "Have you say", which is very encouraging.

Over 200 people have now pre booked for this event. From their website:

Two hundred want to stop the treaty

Pre-booked applications for Roger Knapman’s Stop the Treaty conference are now over 200, with more coming in every day. This presents the organisers, who had planned for a 200-strong conference, with a minor problem, of whether to move to a bigger hall at the same venue, the Webbington Hotel at Loxton in Somerset. A decision will be made during the coming days. The organisers are also appealing for those travelling to the conference by car to consider giving lifts to those without their own transport. A lady in Bridport is an example of one of those who are having to make their own way to Loxton.

This meeting will prove to be the most important event UKIP has held since Farage became leader for more reasons than one!. All members should attend. Do not miss it. This is make or break for UKIP.

I`m interested that Dick Morris is coming over to speak at this .I was always impressed by his ability to hold an audience`s attention and by his grasp of different political strategies .I wish I was going now .

Petrina: I have been given conflicting evidence about Dick Morris. Some say that he will be there, while others say it will be a recorded message. Either way, it will be of value. I think the same could be true of Philip Benwell, I am less surprised about Philip; he has not been too well of late.

Whatever disagreements may exist, we must support Roger Knapman's initiative concerning the Lisbon Treaty. Similarly we must hope that Nigel's efforts to obtain good results in the 'May elections', will also be successful for him and the Party.

I heard yesterday that Dick Morris is definitely going to be there,it was going to be just a recorded message but now he will be in person.
I do hope that some sort of plan will be agreed re the action needed to
support a referendum ,the CIB and other organisations will be only too happy to help .

having been brought up not 8 miles from the webby can i echo this appeal - Loxton isn't exactly easy to get to. Even if people can arrange pick ups at bristol or weston stations it would help.

'Just off' J22 is a little misleading.
