I do not have all the answers. For instance I did not know that Beds Police were looking at the issues surrounding Tom Wise.

I am not a BNP member. Before joining UKIP (2001) I was a member of the local Tories.

Well done guys for opening up this can of worms, again, on a public forum. No doubt it is only a matter of time before the press or opposition groups attempt to rip us apart again. The press who peruse this site have rich pickings!

This is perilously close to shooting the messenger again. Star is clearly fishing for awkward information, but really UKIP shouldn't have to worry about fishing. One of the tenets I always supported when I was in UKIP was that you should always be able to answer a question openly and truthfully (within confidentiality limits), and if you can't then something is wrong. If all it takes to cause problems for UKIP is someone anonymously asking how Regional Organisers are paid and what role they perform then the party is in dire trouble.

If there is a can of worms to open, then that isn't Star's fault and it isn't the forum's fault. It is the fault of whomever created the can of worms and presumably placed UKIP in a compromised position.

From conversations I have had, that 'can of worms' has now been dealt with. One can only hope that the hubris that caused it in the first place has also gone.

I agree with that Anthony. I also accept that there is not an issue at present and everything is done within the bounds of legality. However, that will not stop some press bod who is not up to speed on these things from perhaps launching another attack. We may understand the ins and outs, but an outsider most likely wont.

Either way, i think we have exhausted this topic.

I very rarely post on this forum.However I feel I must today to lay to rest some of the more damaging posts that have appeared here recently.
The reason I do so is because,as Harry Aldridge and Chikrodah have said,this forum is watched very closely by the press.
It is my job to have to answer queries from them and frankly it is time consuming and frankly irritating.

To Barboo.These rumours coming from the South West that Graham Booth paid Nigels son Sam.It is not true.I talked to Graham who was disgusted at the allegation.It is without foundation.
For your information the job that Sam does is as apart time barman as are so many students.
To resigned member.It is ridiculous even to suggest that correspondence between NFs legal advisors and the Sunday Times be made public.
To even suggest it when you hide your own name is a bit rich.

No one in theparty has ever suggested to Dr Sean Gabb that he could be put onto an MEP list.
It is not possible for anybody in the party to promise such a thing.There is a procedure set out that applies even to sitting MEPS.
I have talked to the person concerned .He had never met Dr Gabb before and was making polite conversation.Dr Gabb mentioned he had just bought a property and was told that UKIP was short of prospective candidates in that area and would he think about putting his name forward.He declined.It is the sort of conversation thathappends quite often from people looking to fill candidates lists.No MEP lists and no promise were mentioned or made.

To Mr Collier again.Tom Wide was not excommunicated for the sin of presumption.He had the whip withdrawn because he was under investigation by OLAF and was not immediatley forthcoming when questioned by members of the IND Dem group.
In many professions people are suspended while under investigation.
Had the Party not done so they would have been criticised.

Re Mr Wise being investigated by Bedfordshire OPolice.There is no proof at all of this.

To Star re Tome Wise.
You do not know what Nigel Farage wants regarding Tom Wide so stop saying you do.It is absurd to claim that Nigel Farage wants to keep Toms seat for a crony.
As explained above there are procedures in place that would prevent anybody doing this.
To those who jumped onto the forum saying that because the Sunday Times said that Nigel was paying his son then it must be true than shame on you.A letter from the firm of Carter Ruck was sent just as John Whitaker reported in the NEC minutes.
The delay has not been caused by Nigel but by the Sunday Times tardiness.
I am told that a reply is expected very shortly.
To Mr Collier again.You make veiled reference to a possible dismissal of a person emplyed by the Ind Dem Grioup in Brussels.
For once correct.
My understanding is that the person in question has received from the group,not UKIP,several verbal warning as to the standard of his work and had also been given a poor written assessment.
On there being no improvement his contract was paid up and terminated.
I gather he is still working as an assistant to Tom Wise but is not longer employed by the group.
Finally can I say that I only post to hoefully clarify some points which have crossed the line between honest debate and that of malicious damage.
I am an avid reader of the forum and for the great majority of the time enjoy the difference of opinions and the cut and thrust of debate.
However this is not a purely UKIP forum and there are those who use it to cause the party harm.
No doubt a few of you will welcome the clarifications and others will see it as another exercise in NF propaganda.
This posting is personal from me.
May I also make the point that as my salary is paid by the Ind Dem Group I am indeed a paid lackey of the EU.However as all British MEP are paid by the Home Office,I suppose that makes them all lackeys of Browns government.

Clive Page: Presumably the Tom Wise, Tom Wide and Tome Wise is the same person. Should he have had the whip withdrawn, clearly, that is no impediment to him representing UKIP, to-morrow evening at the London Swinton Group. So, 'whip withdrawl' must be virtually meaningless, apart from gesture value. (1) Mr Wise, was under investigation, but OLAF, have yet to decide a verdict; that will be in future, once OLAF has received have received further evidence and statements from, 'other other relevnt departments' in his own country. I would have thought that, as you know so little about this matter, a telephone call or e-mail would have more prudent. However, as you have asked me in public, I shall reply to the same audience.

Bedfordshire Police are preparing a diary, in order to interview those, who are involved in the matter concerning Wise. The interviews will be nation-wide, and those identified, are being asked to identify a local police station which will be convenient for them. Statements will be taken, evidence collected from all those who are able to assist the police. The subject, I understand, will relate to fraud allegations and a conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. It will be a matter of concern to UKIP members, that an investigation, at this stage of development is unknown to you.

Exactly why Sean Gabb was chosen to spaek at Exeter, when his extreme Libertarian views have been in the public domain for some long, must be a further cause for concern. Dr Gabb has stated in writing, that he was invited by a senior UKIP member, to consider being a UKIP, MEP candidate.There appears to be a conflict of opinion.

When paid party members, make postings to this site almost daily, wouldn't they be better employed endeavouring to, 'know what is happening'?
This level of ignorance is embarrassing.

My understanding of a certain persons dismissal, concerns friction within the London Committee. If the person concerned is being dismissed for incompetence, I fear that others should soon follow:they seem to know nothing!

Mr Collier.Many thanks for your courtesy in pointing out my three typos.And what a delightful courtesy to make me feel better about them by having exactly the same number of typos in your reply.Most considerate.
You must understand that very often what the Press Office knows and what the Press Office puts into the public domain are very often very different.I am sure that as an intelligent man who will understand the reasons.
Regarding Dr Gabb.There is no difference of opinion here.Dr Gabb was not invited to be placed on the MEP list.
As for his views then I can assure you that had the organisers known of them then he may not have been invited.But them Mr Collier,as you keep on demonstrating,hindsight can be a wonderful thing. I regret having to post again for fear of becoming almost Denny like.
