As I said, he used to work full time as Regional Organiser in Wales, paid for by Roger Knapman. They may well have changed the arrangement and title now to avoid breaking the rules which would be sensible.

I believe Malcolm Wood is the full time RO for the South West, not John Bufton.

Er... the fact that the article claims that UKIP is under investigation for misusing EU expenses to hire Regional Organisers to run the national party. As I said, whatever clever wording or re-jigging has gone on in panic after the investigation started, the past use of EU expenses can't be changed. This is going to be very difficult for them to explain.

I see that you are unable to avoid personal attacks. That's a shame.

Rather than having a go at me, would it not be more sensible to look at how this has happened and how to prevent it happening again? This is not a big surprise. Some of us pointed out long ago that the use of ROs for UKIP work breached the rules, but we were told to keep quiet about it. The leading anti-EU movement should be whiter than white, or at least should always aspire to that. Instead they are currently giving the impression of being just as bad as the rest of the them, and that can only be bad news for the eurosceptic movement as a whole.

So will I be pleased? No.

So now we've established that Wales does not have either a full time or part time paid RO as you earlier claimed.

May I say that I fully agree with your last statement and I would also offer my opinion that no family members should be employed by UKIP elected representatives however able or suited they are for the job.

Let relatives find jobs out in the market place just as many millions of us do without the help of those in high places!

No, we've established that there is no one working full time using the title 'Regional Organiser'. Just changing the name means nothing, and I think that you are simply attempting to play semantic games

. The same person appears to be fulfilling the same role under a new title.

I would be very surprised if John Bufton had his salary removed and continued as Regional Organiser/Political Coordinator, but in all honesty I don't know about his current employment status, and it appears that you don't either.

I haven't seen any suggestion that Wales no longer has someone fulfilling that role, and given that John Bufton previously held that role in full time employment, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that he still is doing it.

I don't think that the UKIP Wales website has been updated since last May apart from perhaps a list of the new PPCs.
