'Daily Telegraph', 15 June 2004:
QUOTE Mr Farage explained that UKIP MEPs would be attending plenary meetings so that they could qualify for full secretarial allowances and that they would be using the money to turn UKIP into a "genuine mass movement". UNQUOTE Or not. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

You've not forgiven him for this one yet, have you, TB? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...26/ixhome.html Did you bother with a libel action? ============================= REPLY: No libel action was necessary (apart from it being prohibitivley expensive of course) as most of the content was accurate, except of course that I did not say Mohammed was a paedophile, but simply asserted that today he would be imprisoned for child sexual abuse. What did amuse me is that during the three weeks prior to this article appaearing in the 'Sunday Telegraph', both Greg Lance-Watkins and Daniel Foggo 'phoned me up several times, pretending that they were genuinely interested in researching a story on Islamic extremism. In truth, they were desperate to get hold of the pamphlet I'd written in order to quote it against me. I played along with them and sent them other research material I'd accumulated on militant Islamism, but they pestered me for my original pamphlet, which I never sent them. By the way, that is not the only time I've seen Lance-Watkins and Foggo acting in concert. On balance, I'm glad the 'Daily Telegraph' printed that article and helped many more people realise that the 'Prophet' Mohammed was aged 51 and Ayesha just 6 when he fancied her so much that he proposed to her (or rather to his mother, as was and is the custom), and then insisted on consummating this engagement when she was 9 and he was 54. He'd be facing a stiff jail term if he tried that on in today's U.K. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

It may have changed since, or I suppose that it is possible that I was completely misinformed of the arrangement. If it turns out that I am wrong, I will happily issue a grovelling apology and correction. And please stop the personal attacks - they don't further the debate.
