So the allegation is that the Leader of UKIP is using money from the EC to pay his son who is a member of the Conservatives?
Has Farage junior found the cigarette paper that Farage senior says is between Lib/Lab/Con? It all reads like the script of an Ealing comedy. Meanwhile on another thread a leading Southampton UKIP member has joined the Liberals. |

I'm doing my best to remain objective here.
What interests me is:
I'm not in favour of political sleaze. I would like UKIP to be more obviously accountable to its members, to make more of an effort to show its members that it is trying to evolve in the way that many grassroots supporters on this forum would wish. I'm also beginning to understand why its leaders might choose not to communicate more. I have a very good idea exactly who is behind this never-ending feed of a single viewpoint to Foggo. I have a reasonably good idea why. I'm not impressed. If their aim is to destroy UKIP, they're doing a pretty good job. If that's not their aim, it might be wise to consider their next moves carefully. There may not be enough left to rebuild once they've finished. |

![]() Foggo doesn't need to 'cook up' anything. He gets supplied stories, with background details sufficient to persuade the legal department of the papers he works for that libel actions will not be pursued. You've not forgiven him for this one yet, have you, TB? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...26/ixhome.html Did you bother with a libel action? |

You always have a snide little answer to everything don't you, Mark? Actually, I doubt you know what you are talking about, which would be nothing new.
This article is indeed defamatory. Let's hope it's not true. I would hope that Nigel is now consulting his solicitors with a view to issuing proceedings if an early retraction and apology is not forthcoming. |

UK Independence Party - Sunday Times allegations 'untrue'
Sunday, 24 February 2008 The leader of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage MEP, has issued a statement in response to an article published in The Sunday Times of 24 February under the headline "Anti-Brussels MEP pays son from EU funds.” Mr Farage’s statement says: “There is not a single grain of truth in the statement that I am employing my son using EU allowances or in any other capacity. “The article also contains a statement alleging that I am being investigated by OLAF, the EU’s fraud watch dog. This is simply untrue.” The statement refers to a further claim in the article that a former UKIP regional organiser alleged the party was misusing EU funds. Mr Farage says: “It fails to say that this individual recently lost on all counts a legal case against Mike Nattrass MEP.” Mr Farage says the newspaper asked him “ridiculous questions” relating to allegations that he was acting in an illegal manner financially. He added: “I am particularly annoyed that my son should be dragged into this and his photograph published alongside a story containing allegations for which there is no evidence at all.” The UK Independence Party recently appointed as its Treasurer Mrs Marta Andreasen, the accountant who was sacked by the EU in 2002 for refusing to approve its accounts. The party said she had been asked to take up the position because of her openness, honesty and professionalism as an accountant.

Wales does not have a full time RO!
I should know because I don't have a full time Welsh RO to report to! Anthony why do you constantly have to make up such false and potentially libellous statements as your false assertion that Knapman employs a full time RO for Wales?....you strike me as yet another bitter and twisted individual who can't let go. If you don't agree with UKIP don't vote for them, it's a fairly simple philosophy even for the hard of thinking! |
