Basildon Boy> Ignoring Brian Gerrish and some of the nut jobs out there etc. do you not agree though that the ten of thousands being spent on Common Purpose who are offering courses on diversity and other rubbish is a total waste of our Tax money when we have hundreds of other pressing needs i.e. military equipment?

As someone who has to go on pointless courses - yes it is rubbish - it is also the tip of the iceberg...

Common Purpose is just one training organisation - use the Freedom of Information Act to find out how much your local council, hospital, police forse, fire brigade etc etc spend on staff training using outside individuals and companies.

Oh I'm not suggesting for one moment they aren't the only ones. The number of quango's etc. we have is a total joke and needs to be severly cut back.

Thankfully being a contractor I get out of doing all the silly training programs and "e-learning" courses that most companies force their employee's through.

There are certain formally private media and entertainment and legal and business interests that obtain power, status and income from the policies of government. Together, these are the true government of this country. The elected politicians are not unimportant parts of the administrative web. But they are required to work within limitations imposed by the web as a whole. These limitations are set by the ideas that hold the various parts of the web together.

This is a Gramscian project carried out by Gramscians. These people spent their younger years reading and thinking about ideological hegemony, and they are now, in their middle years, trying to achieve it. The function of ideological hegemony is to legitimise the power and status of the ruling élites in a society, and to marginalise dissent where it cannot altogether be prevented. It supplements—or can even entirely replace—the more overt forms of repression.

The old socialists were notoriously vague about their final utopia, but this did not stop them from producing mountains of dead bodies wherever they took power. We may doubt if the present generation of socialists are sincere when they talk about justice, peace and good will between all people. But we can have no doubt of their immediate end. This is the destruction of the old social and political order—the overturning of its traditions and norms, its standards and laws, its history and heroes. 'Enemy Class' is good. I'm increasingly using that phrase to describe the scum - Gramscian scum indeed - who have hi-jacked our nation.

But let's not wander off into flights of fantasy about 'Common Purpose'.

Common Purpose is merely a tool used by the Enemy Class and should be highlighted as such. It is not a conspiracy in itself.

CP have been in existence for nearly 18 years working below the radar, that is until recently when many people have used the freedom of information act to uncover what they are up to in terms of rolling out their phoney "cultural projects" and the massive amount of help they get by public servants at taxpayers expense.

In an article about CP & Demos back in 2001 William Clark thinks -

The ulterior motive of 'corporate community engagement' is to pirate money from government social management infrastructures which will in the long term eventually abrogates responsibility for social policy to large financial concerns.4 A great deal of this has been rationalised by think tanks as part of a 'Third way' approach. As we will see later the people who run them are becoming adept at obtaining government money through phoney cultural projects.

These people were selected to attend these courses by the Common Purpose Bristol Advisory Board.

They select the candidates and raise awareness (promote) Common Purpose in their own organisations. Send theit own staff on CP courses and help Common Purpose to achieve their aims, all at taxpayers expense (the majority of CPs turnover comes from the public sector)

One of the problems is that many people are very easily brainwashed by these courses. My friends in the Met have had plenty to say on this score, especially regarding people like Commander John Grieve, former head of the anti-terrorist branch, who turned PC overnight.

Very often the most extreme PC 'converts' were previously known for racist jokes and a generally non-PC attitude, but they were persuaded that this would not help their careers.

A senior London fireman once told me that the very same top-ranking officer who once told colleagues to 'give the w*g a hard time' when an ethnic minority recruit arrived, was a few years later preaching hellfire and damnation about racism.

So let's spread the news about the utterly foul CP by all means but let's curb this Bilderberg/Lizards/Illuminati style talk which is a turn-off for normal people.

Agreed, the problem is as soon as anything like CP gets mentioned/uncovered, some of the nutters jump on board. None of us have any control what gets written in blogs etc. so as I stated before this often muddies the water, and people no longer approach it objectivly, they just say "conspiracy nonsense" etc.

I'd hate to think how much money has been spent over 18 years on this rubbish. It must be a disgusting amount.
