Certainly sounds like it! If people accept our aims and want to help, then I don't care if they're White, Black, Lords or Serfs as long as they wish for Britain to be free from the EU! As for UKIP being short of women members , my answer is RUBBISH! More than half our local committee are women and our retiring Chair is a woman!

Try Sonya Porter: She was one of our first MEP candidates, started UKIP in Surrey and S/E, was chairman and treasurer of Woking, a general election candidate in Guildford, ran round the branches for Independence, and was Overseas Co-ordinator: a role that still needs replacing!

More like her, please :-)

Back to the question ,more should be done to attract all people from all backgrounds, personally I dont like pigeon holeing people by race or color or gender we are all individuals.

Is UKIP as well as the wider pro-sovereignty and independence movements too narrow in terms of their demographics?

Should more be done to reach out and appeal to women, minority groups, different social classes and younger age groups? And how is best to achieve this?

Surely the EU is an issue that affects Britons of all different walks of life - and UKIP could stand to gain a lot from gaining support from a wider, more diverse pool of support?

I'm not suggesting or favouring positive discrimination or anything - merely that UKIP should seek to build ties in universities, within womens groups (such as the WI) as well as establishing bases of support in more deprived, diverse communities - promoting mobile, libertarian ideals over the entrenched socialist values?
Most parties are largely white (as is the country as a whole) and middle class, although not necessary male. In the past the Tory Party would have totally collapsed without the female membership, but ironically that may be changing as it ceases to be the 'mass membership' party it once was.

You want to concentrate on keeping the members you have and attracting a few more who are simply useful rather than branching off into PC fantasies.

The WI, FYI, is non political and I'm not sure I particularly want to see so-called libertarian bullsh*t promoted. The only thing that unites us all is opposition to the EU. The party membership has never endorsed a 'libertarian' agenda, whatever that is supposed to mean.

If she is a 'Chair', does that mean she has four legs?

Is it possible to stick to the Queen's English and avoid the jargon of the far left?

Surely it's just an abbreviation for "chairperson".

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

You don't say! Well I never would have guessed

The word is 'chairman', regardless of sex.
