Secondly, I really have to disagree with you. I can't believe that you are actually condoning a pre-meditated ambush on an elected NEC member like this. Surely the only result of such an action is going to be this kind of public argument? In fact I would go as far as to suggest that given John Whittaker's considerable experience, one might suspect that his actions were designed to cause maximum humiliation and political discomfort to Del Young to urge him out of the NEC and the party.

Surely if Whittaker's intentions were to come to an amicable resolution then he would seek to minimise the amount of confrontation, ask Del and the other mentors for their side of the issue before the meeting, perhaps appoint an independent NEC member to examine the situation and only then perhaps bring everyone round a table to discuss a compromise solution, if he still deemed that Del had acted either inappropriately or beyond his remit.

Instead he avoided every single step that might have resolved it peacefully and went straight into a confrontational war footing. What admirable behaviour from the party chairman.

What you are witnessing is a classic UKIP self-inflicted bust-up.

The letter in itself is an item of interest. Wayne and others involved are members of the forum and perfectly capable of putting their side of the story.

And like all Farage collaborators you choose to ignore the actual issues and attack the person criticising instead . I take it then that you didn't object to the ambush when you witnessed it happening? Do you consider it acceptable behaviour from a party chairman?

As I recall, you objected very strongly when somethng similar was done to you once in a meeting by David Abbott, IIRC.

I don't think that anyone outside the Youth group will make a judgement either way. I will stick my neck out and suggest that no one is very interested in the internal arguments.

I note that you still haven't said anything of substance beyond making personal attacks on myself. This merely confirms what I just said - that the standard tactic is to use ad hominem attacks to avoid trying to justify the actions of the leadership. As a web veteran you know very well that making such personal attacks just weakens your case.

Just in case anyone thinks that Douglas and I are getting testy with each other, we do actually like each other, but just enjoy a bit of banter! .... er... isn't that right DD?
