Default UKIP: Farage in BBC immigration debate
From the official website:

The leader of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage, will take part in an important debate about immigration to be broadcast on BBC Radio Five Live at 10 pm on Thursday 8 November.
Immigration is also the topic of a special edition of Newsnight on BBC2 television and the two programmes will combine for the first time.

Radio Five Live can be found on 909 and 693MW.

I watched this and there was no sign of Farage.
Anyone know what happened to him?

Farage was on the Radio 5 portion of the show. If you had tuned into Radio 5, or switched to the 'news multiscreen' after the Newsnight programme, you would have seen/heard him.
