Default Referendum Day of Action

So will UKIP be holding a nation wide day of action with petitions and leaflets being handed out? Or will UKIP do nothing?

I hope we will be doing something to wake people to this threat to us.

**** off BB. Why haven't you printed off a ream of leaflets and spent days pushing them through letterboxes? Don't tell me it is because Nigel Farage didn't tell you to.
Anyway, we are too late. No referendum.

I can't say what the rest of the party is doing, but I can tell you that Tom Wise has arranged for an open top double decker bus for 6 months, to mount a good pro-referendum campaign.

The bus will be in the Eastern region on the 26th, and Tom has issued an open invitation to UKIP members and supporters to join him and the press on the bus. Call Peter Cole on 01525-385900 if you would like more details.

On the 27th, Tom will take the bus to London to join in the rally. Again, call Peter if you would like more details about timings and locations, etc.

Today I will be in my local High Street with a table - a team of UKIP like minded people - petition forms and leaflets to hand out.

Just such a shame that UKIP couldn't organise a coordinated day of action to get members up and down the country to do the same thing.

Day of action was a failure...

...Tories had set up a stall at the busiest place in the High Street - had 20 people handing out leaflets and collecting signatures.

Welcome to Vote 4 Metcalfe.com

We only had 3 people and 2 clipboards and a few hundred leaflets.

Nearly everybody had signed the tories petition.

Indeed. I trust that you will be sending a letter of complaint to the NEC and all of the other local associations?

Or will you just continue sniping on this board?

UKIP is supposed to be the leading anti-EU party in the UK.

Year after year there are promises of coordinated activity.

Every other party has coordinated campaign packs sent to branches to hold 'Days of Action' up and down the country.

It doesn't take much effort to organise something post it to branch chairmen to get them into the High Street with a group of activists handing out leaflets and collecting signatures on a petition. Even get our MEPs to attend.

In a good day 600-1000 signatures can be collected and 3000+ leaflets can be handed out.

With a decent press release with photos you can get good local publicity in your local newspaper.

The Tories can do it - Labour and the LibDems can do it - why not UKIP?
