Default Govt.Funding Likely Deliver 1m to UKIP

I understand that the Party has been put on notice that Central Party Funding will deliver just under 1 Million to UKIP this Autumn if Parliament pass the measure. As the main parties are keen that this should happen it is likely
that it will take place .
So what are we going to do with it? Our new Treasurer will be in position by then so no doubt she will be available to advise. However it will be a matter for the NEC to decide where it is used .

Where would you place your priorities ?

Mine would be on the structure of the party .Each Region could do with a properly funded Representive who reports directly back to the NEC,plus a full time Election Team.

Perhaps before the money is allocated we should know why UKIP is being allocated £1m of taxpayer funding and if we get that much then how much the big 3 will each be getting. And whether as a matter of principle UKIP should reject the money in the first place. I don't have any definitive views on that but UK taxpayer money is different to EU funding in my opinion so I would have to be persuaded that all relevant political parties deserve the money apparently likely to be allocated.

That's a heck of a sum of money, especially considering UKIP's annual income at the moment.

Now, I may be wrong on this, and not up to date. However, the first proposal of this legislation, i.e. that of state funding of political parties, meant that the only parties eligible are those with at least 2 MPs (our beloved Parliament could hardly endorse giving cash to the BNP).

However, as I said, I could be wrong.

How to kill off opposition Parties part 1...

If true, talk about uphill struggle.

Come, come! You don't think that the Big 3 would be that underhand, do you? I am absolutely and totally convinced that they are extraordinarily keen on the broadest possible democracy and are in no way out to secure their own well-feathered nests, no sirree...

Well said. Of course the fact that Bottle Brown's Mob will get more than anyone else and can now tell the Unions to get stuffed has nothing to do with it.

This was explained at conference. The sum is calculated based on votes we received - but I didn't catch in which election...
