Default Anti-EU, forum, EU

Thank you for your agreement, Kernow.

I think us regulars on here can spot these trolls easily.

Anyone can post to this forum saying they are anti-EU - but some don't mean it and are here for other reasons.

We must not allow these trolls to turn this anti-EU and pro-sovereignty forum into one in which the EU is not the key issue.

Are you sure that is correct, Millennium3? The Conservative Party, the Democratic Unionist Party, the Ulster Unionist Party, UKIP and the English Democrats are all officially against giving the EU more power.

As you will know, Millennium3, opinion polls show strong opposition among the British public to the UK losing more sovereignty.

Enough for UKIP to have an important influence on the result in at least as many marginal constituencies as at the last General Election (at which, according to the Bruges Group, UKIP took vital anti-EU votes depriving the Conservative Party victory in 27 target seats).

If UKIP take just a few hundred votes directly off Labour and Liberal Dim Party candidates in highly marginal seats it could also mean that those two parties could lose constituencies (and/or fail to win some of their target seats).

Default The Tory way

If you want to know what the attitude of Tory Head of Policy, Oliver Letwin, is then by all means peruse this post detailing my email conversation with Letwin on the subject of the EU (scroll to after the first quote).

Draw your own conclusions.

I meant this in terms of the leaderships of the parties. Brown & Campbell are wholly committed to greater integration which, in terms of the HOC seats at their command, represents a significant majority.

I am afraid the British public don't get much of a say - this is why I would have preferred UKIP to concentrate on policies which returned democracy to the people rather than those which fall on the right/left axis and particularly those which occupy the more right wing positions where no more than 10% of votes lie.

Yes - which, in my opinion gives UKIP no alternative but to back Campbell at the next GE.

UKIP has used its influence to spoil Tory chances - it does not have enough influence, because of the strategy adopted, to create.

Under no circumstances should UKIP back anyone who is a member of the fanatically pro-EU Liberal Dim Party whatever promises that deceitful and widely disliked party make.

UKIP will have an influence at the next General Election in the increasing number of marginal seats where the result could be very close - indeed, UKIP could determine who wins and/or who gets an overall majority in the Commons on a fraction of the vote it got at the last General Election.
