Could just be more ****-stirring. But it wouldn't be first time the tabloids have had their fun with our MEP's. |

Depends what you mean by unsavoury.
NoW has a set of double standards of immense proportions. They will condemn the foibles of others as unsavoury, but make money from voyeurs by reporting them in graphic detail. Remember the editor, Rebekah Wade, railing about wife bashing and domestic violence and then having a punch up with her hubby in the street. This is the moralising newspaper whose court correspondent recorded private 'phone calls of the young princes. If it's another example of fraud then we're doomed, but if it is perfectly legal sexual deviancy then 'so what?'. The NoW does not sell to heterosexuals who have only ever had the one partner who they 'slept' with, in the missionary position, for the first time on their wedding night. I suspect even the Catholic Herald can't say that.

The News of the World has the largest circulation of all UK newspapers. It is obviously more appealing than any of the 'quality' papers. More ABC1s read the Sun than read the Telegraph.
Rather than criticise such papers we should see what we have to do to get them to help us.
