Whenever I see one go like that I always fell a little glad that they weren't elected. I suspected Brian of being one of them.

Maybe, but how do you know that those who were elected would not have done the same if they had failed?

I can understand why people leave, when they have another party to join. Fair enough.

When they walk into the wilderness though, then I don't see the point burning the membership card. It acheives nada, better put it in mothballs, just in case. Letting it expire is fair enough too though.

It is what they do in leaving that is sometimes peculiar. Some want to pull the roof down on their former colleagues and start to see them as the enemy. Probably a bit like some divorces I guess.

Unhappy

I checked UKIP.ORG for current NEC members. Jill Seymour is still "photo due soon"...

Yep, I believe that is now a recognised condition.

Broadly, I agree that our MEPs (with one or two exceptions) are a complete disgrace.

The leadership of the party undoubtedly leaves a great deal to be desired.

But!!!

Where do those who gallantly throw in the towel actually go?

Are they giving up anti-EU politics altogether or are they fighting the battle elsewhere?

The Conservatives? BNP?

At least we should be told.

I reckon that staying put with the devil you know is the most palatable option.

Where is Suchorewski, Rodney Atkinson, Bryan McCormack et al?

Surely if we all rallied around one anti-EU party which is prepared to put up as many candidates as possible at any as many elections as possible, we just might make a small difference.

Some people gave their lives for our country. All we are being asked to give is our pride and our dignity.
It is not a question of giving one's pride and dignity. It is a question of sacrificing one's integrity. In most of my period, working for the principles of UKIP, I thought the leadership generally did not help but I continued. However, it got to the stage when I couldn't trust people I was supposed to work with and couldn't trust the party with money. Then, the devil I knew became totally unacceptible. How can you convince your own membership, potential members and the media to support a party, when you have lost faith in it yourself?

If you still believe in the principles you held, you look for somewhere else to go.

Turn the question round. What do UKIP members think when someone throws in the towel and leaves another party to join them?

Reading most of the posts on this forum I have come to the conclusion that most posters are more anti UKIP than anti EU! May I suggest that those who fit this bracket start a new forum for ex UKIP members called the anti UKIP forum!
