Bown trial ends

The Electoral Commission claim that Mr Bown was an non permissable donor as his name did not appear on the electoral register at the time.

The judge will give a written judgement at the same court on Tuesday, 7th August at 10am.

I hope the judgement isn't too harsh.

I suppose that will hinge on whether the Judge believes that it was an accident, negligence or a deliberate choice.

Even if it was an accident, the judge may want to send a message that carelessness won't be tolerated and that every donor must be processed properly, especially the main donor for a party.

Hard to see how the judge can do other than uphold the law.

It's how he upholds it and how much flexibility he has and what he chooses to do. Of course the real offenders are laughing all the way to the bank aren't the LibLabCon trick
