Steve Uncles was on the SE edition of the Politics Show today on BBC 1 at 12.00 and got a good 10 minutes. Will he do as an example?

He didn't come across that well though. He was hammered by the other two guests and ended up looking a bit silly.

Good peformance by Nigel on Marr (haven't seen/heard any of the other appearances). Nigel didn't bang on about the EU Treaty - he didn't need to because he could review the ST front page article about it and all present seem to be as one about it [this was a rare occasion when none of the reviewers was a Guardian lefty type] - but he usefully reminded viewers that talk of 'red lines' as far as Britain is concerned over the EU are meaningless.

It was good that Michael Howard referred in grave tones to what I think he called the "shocking deceit" in the hatching of this Treaty as laid bare by Angela Merkel's leaked email. Saved Nigel from having to say it.

Although it is the obvious time to invite UKIP onto the "box " and the radio with the new EU constitution/treaty being discussed ,I am suspicious when the Beeb are quite so free and easy with their invites .

At the GE they allowed quite a bit of exposure at the beginning but very little towards the end .We will see if their tactics are the same again .

Let UKIP kick it about before there is anything really concrete but keep it to the big boys for later on .That way the idea of withdrawal from the EU doesn`t get much of an airing .They can rely on the usual old watered down twaddle from the Tories.
We`ll see.
