Charles loved Camilla but of course could not marry a divorced woman. It was essential for the future Monarch to be married and Father a future heir to the throne, so after many other girl friends, Diana was thought to be the most suitable prospect as the Wife to the future Monarch. As we all know the marriage apart from the birth of two boys was a disaster. Diana was too young and the wrong character to take on the role she found herself in. Both Charles and Diana had faults but neither should be vilified for a failed marriage!
