She's done nothing. She should go to the media and anyone who will listen and make it clear. If they ignore her, she should go on Youtube.

If she gives a toss about this country, that is what she would do.

She could of course do all these things and while she does it she may as well take an instrument of abidcation and a bill declaring Britian a republic. No governemnt would or should have to put up with that behaviour from a monarch.

If you want a political head of state I suggest you start campaining for an elected presidant.

You have it wrong. Expressing an opinion, isn't demanding control of the country.

Not sure how I can make that clearer. I suspect your loyalty is blinding you to the fact she will be the Queen that presided over the end of Britain.

it is politicons who have done that, the queen is not allowed in her position to express an opinon in the way you suggest, Tony Benn once reamrked she was not allowed to say good morning without refering to a script, he also mentioned that he felt she loathed the Common Market.

You are trying to politicise a non political position.

Maybe that's the deal. She stays quite and they let her be an ornamental Queen forever.

I 100% support the Queen as Head of State and pray we will never have someone like Tony Blair as “President”. However, when we have a permanent EU President then our Monarch will no longer be our Head of state but will be reduced to mear provincial figurehead for a minor offshore part of the Greater Union.

The main problem with the monarchy, in my opinion, is the hangers on and the seemingly hundreds of minor royals and titled nobility. I am against an hereditary House of Lords (although an “appointed chamber” filled with Tony’s Cronies would be even worse!) and we should be dropping OBE, MBE, etc in favour of more modern forms recognition of merit. Similarly Knighthoods have had their day in my opinion, especially when they are handed out as a right to senior civil servants and political time servers.

If we are truly a meritocracy then we should not have such anachronisms in our society. I 100% support equality of opportunity and everyone should have the chance to achieve their potential. . I can accept the basic inconsistency of saying this and then supporting the Monarch but an exception does not disprove the rule. Society will not fail if we have a single hereditary position, especially one with constitutional safeguards such as ours. However you only need one, not the dozens we have now. I would fight for Queen and Country, but not Lord This, Lady That, etc, These people already have the advantages of wealth, property, privileged schools, etc, why give them airs and graces as well? Comrades, to the barricades!

Essential the role has been a ceromonial one well since well before she came to the throne. But I would say that even if the only useful job she does is wave from the balcony, throw garden parties and save us the job of elected some faceless europhile presidant then I would still support her.
